    Gunsmithing Older Jet Mill Quality?

Had the wrong setting on the dang camera for a couple pictures The table has power feed on the X axis. I'm wanting to get a set of quick change colletts for it, any recommendations or ones to stay away from?. I used to work for a company that made CNC machines and they had quick change, so I...

    Gunsmithing Older Jet Mill Quality?

I picked it up this morning. It came with a small box of tooling. The autofeed wouldn't work, but he swore it did when he bought years ago. It was in a body shop, so it is covered in Bondo dust. I spent about 2 hours cleaning it up so far and need to spend another 3 or 4 more. I was a little...

    Gunsmithing Older Jet Mill Quality?

I'm going to look at an Jet Mill from 1980. It was saved, by the current owner, from the scrap pile by a local toolmaking company, so I'm not sure. I imagine it was a tool room machine. The model is JVM 840 PF. My father went and looked at it already and $1100 is the asking price. No tooling...

Does BCM offer a Bolt Carrier Only?

With all the deals on BCGs lately, you'll spend more getting the carrier, firing pin, cam pin, gas key, and retainer then you would by just buying the bolt carrier group.

    Guidance with 260 Rem Load

Went shooting last Monday and had a great time. I tried 3 bullets in my 24" GAP 260 Rem. The Barnes Match Burner 140 gr HPBT shot really good. I had the first 5 loads touching at 200 yards. These were seated to 2.750"(ish) touching the lands. I tried the Hornady 140 AMax a couple months back...

My New Rifle 'Irony' - By GAP

Been having to do everything else left handed, might have to try shooting, too. The next time either of my brother's offers to break it in, I might take them up on it. I can still reload for it... That's what I really enjoy. On another note, my brother's rifle is shooting like a dream. A...

My New Rifle 'Irony' - By GAP

Got my rifle back from GAP a couple weeks ago, and I've been kinda busy to do anything with it, yet. So this past Saturday, I was working on a car and managed to get a rotator cuff tear in my right shoulder. Looks like it's going to sit for a while more... Ironic indeed. Gonna take my...

    Making .300 blk from .223

Re: Making .300 blk from .223 If you have a drill press, the best way to trim the neck off is with the Forster Power Case Trimmer. You set the trim length with the drill stop. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/721759/forster-power-case-trimmer I saw a youtube video of it once and it was...

Gunsmithing Why dont companies make .875 clamp on gas blocks??

Re: Why dont companies make .875 clamp on gas blocks?? As you're finding out, .875" barrels aren't that popular. I have Armalite rifles with that size barrel, but none with adjustable gas blocks. Perhaps, if you ask real nicely, JP might make you one. Best bet is to find a different barrel...

Gunsmithing Why dont companies make .875 clamp on gas blocks??

Re: Why dont companies make .875 clamp on gas blocks?? Armalite's T barrels are .875", and they make clamp on gas blocks. I believe the SASS gas system is what you are seeking, but it's not low profile. And it's Armalite's rifle length...
