Who will work on a 1917 Eddystone

So here is the issue. My wifes grandfather left me his 1917 Eddystone. It was sporterized when I got it, ears cut off, front sight removed and the receiver drilled and tapped for weaver 2 piece base. It also had an old weaver 4x scope on it. I would like to find someone who could true the...

Neck down 308 Win to 260 Rem

I would like to know if it is possible to size my 308 down to 243, and if so what are the necessary steps and what additional equipment would I need? And is it a good way to go or a waste of time?

Hunting & Fishing God Damn Ticks

I had my first tick of the year today crawling on my neck. Had to use a magnifying glass to tell it was a tick. I got 6 days of turkey camp starting tomorrow to get some more. I guess I will bring some garlic along to keep them off me, and maybe some listerine in a spray bottle for extra...

Rifle Scopes A little help finding the right scope

Real impressed with the quality of the SS12x42. Haven't got to box test it yet, but have coyote tested it. 2 down on friday morning. Trying to use the mildot master on a coyote is a joke. damn things wouldn't stop long enough to give me a chance to range them. Thanks for the recommendation, I...

Rifle Scopes Burris XTR Rings measurements

Thanks for the reply. I was actually able to find a pair of lows locally, and measured them so they worked fine. I am running a egw 20 M base and a swfa 12x42. Plenty of room, wish I could get it lower though.

Rifle Scopes Burris XTR Rings measurements

How do you measure the burris xtr rings? I have a pair that are too high and i am not sure exactly where they measure them. I tried to search for a cutsheet on them but no luck. I assume that it is from the top of the rail to the bottom of the scope but I hate to order twice and return once...

Rifle Scopes A little help finding the right scope

Finally got my SS12X42 today. It seems to have real nice glass for the money. Also found my hidden stash of ammo, 13 boxes in the bottom of a file cabinet. Thought I shot it all. Well now I am going to have to wait till about thursday to see how it performs.

    .243 or .308

I chose a 308 my first go round and am in the process of going 243 because of the recent ammunition shortage. I purchased a savage model 10PC rifle because it was all I could afford at the time. Little did I know that it is a relatively simple task to change a barrel on a savage rifle. So now I...

Rifle Scopes A little help finding the right scope

Well as I stated earlier, I ordered the scope, but it is backordered. Any idea how long it might take to get one or are they out of production? I emailed them and havn't heard back yet. Read on another thread how long these guys are waiting for a 1-6 scope, like a year or more. I was looking...

Rifle Scopes A little help finding the right scope

Well, I ordered one last night. It is the SS12X42MQ model. It also recommended the Mil Dot Master so I got that too. I hope that is the scope you guys were referring to. I'll tell you what I think when it gets here. And yes I saved enough to buy some ammo. Only problem is, there is none to be...

Rifle Scopes A little help finding the right scope

Just checked out a 10x 42on SWFA. Will the glass be a higher quality than the millett trs-1 that I am currently using? If my price point is too low for better glass, let me know. My only comparison would be to my old 10x40 Leupold binocs.

Rifle Scopes A little help finding the right scope

At one time when I bought my 10 Precision carbine, I thought that I would be shooting out to 1000 yrds occasionally. But then reality set in once I plotted that distance on Google Earth where I shoot. That's a long ways. So now my primary objective that may require a long shot is a coyote or a...

    Maggie’s Most impressive shot?

Re: Most impressive shot? 100's of rounds of cheap .22 ammo, a remington pump, a yard full of walnuts, and the encouragement of Herb Parsons the Showman Shooter, is a good recipe for trick shooting. So after tons of practice with the above, I am out squirrel hunting with about 4 of my...
