You can get away with no tripod, as we shot 6th place shooting wise last year and didnt have a tripod. That being said we are both takin GB one this year.
If you got the cash go for a pvs-30, pvs-27, or cnvd-lr you will not be disappointed. If on a budget it is hard to beat the simrad. Just mho good luck!
Buy once cry once, best bang for the buck is a simrad clip-on. can be had for around 2k and will bang steel to 1k plus. save your money and buy something worth having. I bought a atn gen 2 scope first and quickly bought a simrad as the atn could hardly see 100 yards. now i have a pvs-27 just...
i have used mine on a few setups and have settled on a 3-15. Any less and you get tunneling, any more it gets grainy. It is the optimal mag range for a simrad imo. good luck and happy night ops!
How are you guys sighting in your simrad, i have heard a few different ways and wanted to see what you guys that use one do. Also in your ballistics program are you using your scopes height over bore or the simrads? Thanks, Kurt
