    Whitehouse Petitions - Firearms Related

There are two firearms related petitions on "whitehouse.gov" that are NFA related. I don't how effective these are, but WTH. You have to use an email address to confirm. Looks like I double linked. ((I tested the second link - won't work ??? trying to find problem. Did something wrong. You can...

What Pack to carry my rifle and everything else for Hunting?

^ ^ ^ This ^ ^ ^ I was in the same quandary and contacted Ceylon - we discussed and he fixed me up. I was thinking an integrated pack & rifle scabbard, but ended up with separate units - glad I did. Great vendor to work with!

    Great Customer Service From Geissele

I have found when someone's name is on the line, there is typically no question regarding CS, from gun parts to car dealerships.

    Gun Range help

Good show on a first class range, and sounds like you are doing just that! When I stated "cheap out", I should have been more specific. Initial investment is incremental compared to the cost of a retrofit. If you think it's a great idea at the time, it probably is. Best of luck on your...

Opinion - Having Rem 700 LA Trued

. . . not unless you re-barrel at the same time. You only stated you have 700LA. Is this a barreled action or complete rifle? If it is, shoot your present barrel out, then have at it. Spend what you would on truing on good ammo, or reloading equipment to develop a pet load.

    Gun Range help

Action Target (actiontarget<dot>com) would be a good place to start. They offer design / architectural services, and products (remote control target systems, trap systems, ventilation, etc). AT is what many LE ranges use. Do not "cheap-out", you will regret it later. If you have any LE contacts...

    Rifle Scopes Why No Elcans!!

Don't know where all the hate originates. I've been using a Specter DR 1-4x for over 4 years with no issues. There is no POI delta between 1x or 4x. The windage/elevation is a mechanical adjustment, not an internal erector. I have used it on a S&W M&P 22, 6920, 6933, and REPR 16". All required...

New product reveal pending, are you in?

I'm already on list. . . . for those on the fence, this is less than a tank of gas (BTW, I have a Yukon XL), or a dozen "Top Shelf" 'ritas

    I don't gamble, but have been known to bet . . . I'm in . . . hope I'm not too late.

    SureFire X400 Zero?

10 yds is a good distance for a handgun laser. Since you mention defensive/combat, this is a reasonable distance. If you think you would take a longer shot, try it at other distances to validate POI. BTW, nice weapon light!

Gunsmithing installing muzzle device without barrel vice

I realize the OPs thread was for a bolt gun, but this method works for them too. I do not own a "barrel vise", but routinely remove and install muzzle devices on ARs using a HD bench vise and blocks of hardwood, clamping as close to the muzzle as practical. Use caution to clamp the barrel, not...

You ever got someone a gun as a gift?

I was 16 (a looong time ago mid 60s) making $1/hr. All I had ever heard from my dad was "how great the Browning was", and "wish I had one". He was a gunnery instructor in Harlingen, Tx after his 50 mission tour in north Africa in B-17s, and spent hours on the skeet range using Brownings. His...

    Sidearms & Scatterguns First 1911

^ ^ ^ This ^ ^ ^ There is some excellent information Hilton has compiled. I was fortunate to attend one of his 1911 maintenance classes - he knows 1911s in and out. Go to 10-8performance.com, click on 1911, then click "Choosing a 1911 for Duty Use", and "1911 User's Guide". A wealth of...

Rifle Scopes Bushnell Customer Service isn't

MarinePMI, I guess you are lucky. I have the EOTech (? model) that runs on "N" batteries. I purchased it because of the reticle and small footprint. All was going great until I went to pull the batteries to lend to an officer on a qual day, because his were dead. Opened the battery compartment...

Rifle Scopes Bushnell Customer Service isn't

Don't feel too bad - I have my first, only, and last (pos) EOTech - their CS is yard bird dung, and it cost a few $ more. BTW, don't buy anything that runs on "N" batteries. The off-gassing of those batteries will destroy most sealed electronics.

    equipment priority advice

Though not a tangible piece of equipment, consider a class at Rifles Only, or other quality training - less than the price of a Terapin. You will leave with some tangible skills.
