Re: does the style of crown produce better accuracy ? Right on boys. I thank you all for the wealth of info. I knew an american site would have the best firearm info and I can tell that was right. I can see nicking the end off is usless so all ill do is a quick lap to clean to crown...
Re: does the style of crown produce better accuracy ? The main reason im wondering is because I bought a savage TRR-SR in .17 HMR and the crown looks kinda lacking. I live in Canada and will never have a need for the suppressor threads so I was thinking about cutting that 1/2" of the barrel...
Does a barrel that is cut flat and crowned suffer in accuracy compared to a barrel that is recessed a tad and than crowned ? seams to me the bottom photos only advantage is durability to protect the crown ? ( I personally would put more effort in to get rid of tool marks ect,, just an...
Re: Savage 93 FV round cycling issues Is the bolt open or closed when you put the mag in? A lot of times when you have a full mag and put it in with the bolt closed it will not seat perfect. Very common with more than just savages. Open the bolt than put the mag in. This is the normal...
Re: Pillar bedding my MKII FV-SR Tacticool Hey man good job! I just got a SR as well but only in .17 hmr and first thing you notice when you take the stock off is wow... how badly this needs to be bedded. than you kinda wish it was a single shot so you could just fill the hole...
I just discoverd thease things and google has kinda limited info. Im wondering how accurate they are? Can you expect match grade accuracy out of a properly installed one? anyone install a liner that would care to post a target photo?
Re: 1000y target in tuff wind. The one thing about long range..... Friggen far away targets. Ya know what I do, bring my .22 with me for the long walk. I've shot much better @ 1000y but yesterday was interesting just due to how spuratic windy it was. 10mph one second, 30 the next...
As I walked down to set up the target and back I checked spots with my wind meter and had a low of 10mph wind with gust up to 30mph from 3oclock. Once behind the rifle my only signs were natural tall grass and the wind its self. I had no wind markers set up. Scope is a fixed 10x sightron and...
I have a 6xc with a tikka M55 action. It has a classic wood stock. Are there any semi inlet tube chassis I could make work ? Mostly just something so I could have a more tactical style stock with m16 style grips.
Re: Mil dot zeroing question Hey thx for the replys! I got some time off work and gave it a shot. No problem ! I dialed up 7moa ( 2mils ) and snapped a shot at 1000 aiming off my bottom 5th mil line. Hit the target, good to go. The rifle is a custom built 6xc off a tikka m55 action...
If you zero your rifle @ 100y off say 2 mils up rather than center on the crosshairs, will ur shooting program still be accurate at long range if you shoot off mil dots? For example: say my bullet drops 7 milrads @ 1000y. If I zero my rifle 2 up can I make that 1000y shot still on the lower...
Anyone here try shooting a bit of distance out of your bullets sonic range? what kind of observations did you make? my bullet should go sub sonic around 1400yards. I shoot a custom built 6xc. very accurate rifle. Streched it out to 1847yards to day with no luck. It was windy so the shot...

Re: Crown on muzzle break ? lol hopifully the last thing the bullet sees is the center of it's target! With all the holes in a break, you see where I'm getting. Got a little curious.
