Re: base plate and used scope and rings The 20 MOA base should be fine. I had no problem getting my M700 sighted in at 100 meters with the same setup. Plus then it gives more room for upward adjustment and shooting at longer ranges in the future.

Re: Too much Koolaid? Surefire has always worked well for me and gave me no reason to try anything else. They may cost more but mine have always worked 100% of the time.

Re: Long range varmint rifle I run a 243 for long range varmints and yotes. 75gr. V-Max's do a number on them for me and I hear the 87gr. are even better.

Looking to pick up a Remington SPS stainless in 243 and put it in a B&C stock but am unsure how it will look with the barrel channel sized for heavy barrels. Anyone have a picture of a standard diameter barrel in a B&C stock?
