Gunsmithing TRG Barrel in 260 Rem

I have a TRG 22 in 308. I'm thinking of converting it to 260 Remington. (I know about the limited production of 260 Rems Euro optic HAD (they seem to be sold out)). Anyway. Is this feasable? Anybody actually done it? (or any other TRG barrel change?). Cost? Problems? Thanks for any info.

    Rifle Scopes Vortex Viper PST

It looks to me that the Vortex Viper PST is the new cost king with all the features (matching reticles, zero stop, plenty of travel). Any other scopes with features in this price class? (What is the going price on these and what are the wait times?) Anyone finding them in stock? Fill me in on...

Sako TRG 22 in .260 Rem

How are the Sako TRG 22 in 260 Rem owners liking their rifles? I have a 308 one and am considering a 260.

    Gunsmithing making a ustom base

how hard would it be to mill a custom picatinny rail that would be a "poor man's zero stop"? IOW, custom cant a 20moa rail so the scope is bottomed out (leaving maybe 2 moa of down) when it is zeroed at 100 yards. This is for a Rem 700.

    More powder, less velocity

Loaded up some Berger 140's 2,88" oal in my 260 Remington cases, 24" barrel Rem 700. 41.8gr gives 2805fps (10 shot average) 42.1gr gives 2780fps 42.4gr gives 2770fps 42.8gr gives 2771fps No blown primers or flowing brass. Have I entered an upsidedown parallel universe or something? Usually...

    Why is it?

Why is it my cases don't grow? Something about my chamber? Or is it cause I mostly just neck size? And another mystery. Some of my bolt rifles, if you drop the round in the chamber (single feed) and try and close the bolt, the bolt "hangs". You have to give the round a little extra shove when...

    Die problem

So I load as usual with my Redding competition seater and the 308 Berger bullet is getting semi-stuck in the seating die. It never did this before. There is a strange 'pop' as I pull the press handle down and there is a mark on the Berger bullet where it gets stuck in the die. I took the die...

Rifle Scopes Image in rifle scope must be near image

The image in a rifle scope must be near image. By that I mean it requires your eyes to focus some 12" to 20" away. In fact, if you think about it, the image MUST be at the reticle because both the reticle and image are in focus. I'll admit I'm no expert and could be wrong. Anyone know for sure?

Redding dies in a Forster Press

Do Redding dies, and for that matter, lee, rcbs and hornady dies work ok in a Forster press? I need a press and like the Forster (I think). Not sure about Forster dies though. Seems like maybe Redding are the best. I need the BEST neck sizer, full length sizer and bullet seater (I have Wilson...

Rifle Scopes Rifle Scopes vs Binoculars

Is the focus on a pair of binoculars the same as the side focus on a rifle scope? I realize binoculars don't have a reticle (well a few do, but leave those out). They do have a focus. Is that the same as the side focus in terms of what the internal optics and so forth are doing? Or do binoculars...

6.5mm Berger 140's Hunting vs Target

I am loading for tactical target shooting out to 900 yards and in a Rem 700 308 rebarreled to 260 Remington 24" barrel with 8.5" twist and wondering if there is any known advantage between the two 140 grain, 6.5mm Berger bullets. Any help out there?

    Will a 308 chamber in a 260 remington

I have a 260 Remington coming. Wondering if 308 ammo will chamber in a 260 Rem? Will a 260 Rem chamber in a 243? 25-06? (not that I have THOSE) but.... What would happen if someone shot a 260 Remington round in a 308 (I'm pretty sure THAT would chamber). Anything all that bad? Would you even...

    1000 yard hits

On a whim I just churned this out one late night with little to do. I'm sure it's filled with inaccuracies, but maybe it will incite some interesting discussion. There are two basic types of rifle inaccuracy. One is variation in group size. The other is deviation from target center. Usually we...

Range Report 12" high at 650 yards?

Went out to shoot. Shooting every 100 yards on my steel target then a 3 shot group on my paper target. Doing fine, getting first shot hits on steel! Got out to 650 yards (this is about where things get harder so I went to 50 yard increments) and I miss my steel, 3 times in a row. Shoot a group...

Gunsmithing Savage 10 changed to 260 Remington

Would there be any big problems changing a Savage 10FP like this one: http://www.auctionarms.com/search/displayitem.cfm?itemnum=9917734.0 to 260 Remington? Would the magazine work? Cost?

Gunsmithing Tactical build with Badger action

I looked at the specs for the Badger action and I liked what I saw. I am thinking short action, probably 7wsm (not sure on that, yet). But definitely short action. I like the 60 degree throw and the fact they can take AW magazines. Can they take the longer OALs that AW's provide? 7mm WSM in AW...
