Large change in accuracy with barrel temp

How long is your round chambered before firing? If you're chambering the round more than a handful of seconds before pulling the trigger, the hot chamber is increasing the pressure of the round.

Rifle Scopes I'm pissed about the parallax on my new LRHS!

Being able to read a target and being able to read it while the reticle is in focus is two different things. I can read stuff inside my apt at 30ft with a NF fixed paralax 10x, but the reticle is completely blurred out. Yesterday we shot at 10y, and even at 3.5x on my HDMR, the reticle was...

Rifle Scopes Nightforce v US Optics

I've had a USO MR-10 and now have a NF 2.5-10x32. Physical package, the USO was awesome, but I could see tiny bullet holes better with the NF. Other than resolving bullet holes, the glass looked good on the USO (better than IOR). At the end of the day though, I couldn't sit comfortably...

Rifle Scopes SWFA SS 1-6x Rear Ocular Broken?

Is the rear ocular part of the housing supposed to unscrew (the large part of the body behind the zoom ring)? Mine did on my brand new scope. After tightening it down, 1x looks like .8 or so and 1.5x looks like 1x. Comparing to my NF, 6x is now looking like 4x. I just got this and only spent 10...

questions on ai ae mk3 purchase

The AI trigger is better than the SSA-E but I like that my second stage on my Geisselle NM is lighter. So it's between the SSA-E and the NM. I haven't fiddled with the AE trigger, but I believe it goes a lot lower.

Gander Mountain Bolt gun find wow

Based on how thoroughly confused a local FFL was when I did a PPT for my AE MKIII, I bet they thought it was a Rem700 in an AICS and priced it based on that. It took the local FFL 10 minutes to figure out what it was, even after repeatedly telling them, let alone 6.5 CM being stamped on the barrel.

Rifle Scopes FFP vs SFP: Usability in Lower Power Optics

I've posted my sentiment about the Vortex PST 2.5-10x in other threads, but I'll repeat it here in case it helps. If the scope is going on a rifle that would not matter if the scope had to go back for repair for a week or two, then get the Vortex and pocket the difference. I've had the Vortex...

    Rifle Scopes IOR 10x56 or U.S. ST-10

If you're looking in the USO ST-10 price range, I'd recommend a second hand NF 2.5-10x. I had the USO MR-10, which I assume is similar to the ST-10 at 10x, and the NF was a lot more agreeable to my eye. The NF is also lighter and has a more proven track record for durability.

Rifle Scopes Is a $$ scope worth the money?

I had a $2400 USO and side by side with a Vortex 2.5-10 x32, I couldn't really tell a difference. I still sold the Vortex cause it broke, but I also sold the USO and bought a NF. If you have a budget, the SWFA is a great scope and it's diminishing returns after that. The Bushnell 3.5-21 is...

Rifle Scopes The wife gets a new job making more than me so I get to upgrade and could use advice

I personally think it's a little fiscally irresponsible to upgrade considering you have bills that are going to take a year to pay off with the new income. Especially considering that you have a kid, shit happens and unexpected expenses happen. Your wife's new position may not work out. What...

Rifle Scopes Looking for a 2.5-10X scope Vortex or Nightforce?

^^ this. I had the Vortex 2.5-10x32 and the windage knob came off. That was really disappointing since the scope from a feature standpoint, was awesome all around. The knobs have a very solid, tactile click to them, the glass was superb, illumination worked well and fit and finish looked great...

New MK12 MOD O build accuracy issues

I had my PRI forearm come loose, which was hard to notice with the Swan rail. My groups would open up, especially when loading the bipod since it was moving the Swan rail in the slightest amount. May be worth trying to see how it groups without the Swan rail.

    Lightweight SPR style AR-15

My recent build with a Noveske Nsr rail, Noveske Lw 16 barrel, Jp LMOS bolt, NF 2.5-10, Harris bipod and 10 round mag comes on at 8lb 2oz. :-)

Rifle Scopes Viper PST 2.5-10 FFP or SWFA SS 3-15

If you want a scope where you will not have to experience first hand how good the manufacturer's customer service/warranty is, I'd suggest the SWFA over the Vortex.

    My last AR15 build ...700 yards with a 5.56

Given the expected weight, is the surefire MB necessary? Build looks good otherwise. A2 stock may save money and weight if you don't need the adjustability.

    Wilson Combat barrels?

I read they were ER Shaw blanks. For the price, I'd go WOA or, you can try the seekins barrels which are supposed to be rock blanks.

    Lightweight SPR style AR-15

I'm just finishing up my lightweight, precision build. It'll be 6.27 pounds. The only way I could make it lighter would be to use an Ace Ultralight stock (savings of 7oz) and a magnesium lower (-2oz). Noveske makes a lightweight 18" SS barrel. It's still a heavier profile than pencil barrels...

dpms sass 308 vs armalite sass 308

I haven't had the armalite sass but have had a few of their uppers. I did have the dpms sass, though. I thought the Armalites has a much better fit and finish. I also prefer them aesthetically. Accuracy-wise, i never had any complaints about the dpms sass.

american defence vs Larue mounts which one do you like and why

I didn't like that I could push down on my scope with light pressure and it would flex the Larue Mount. Cheap TPS aluminium rings fixed that issue.
