A shoutout to Joe Racosky from NK. My non bluetooth 4500AB stopped communicating with its cradle and/or two of my computers (one Win 8 the other a bootcamp Mac running Win 7). I couldn't transfer profiles, update firmware, bootloader, whatever. Joe sent me a new unit without waiting for me to...
Strong recommendation for D.O.A. I have heavy duty base (now standard) and large and small tops. Just stays in the back of my SUV and setup takes a minute. Its a real stable bench for when you need a bench. Also business is vet owned: great guys.
I've had my MPR for a couple of years. Had to "fix" the ejection problem; its been great otherwise. I pretty much shot it weekly, typically at 100yrds or greater. Nice way to practice fundamentals; 22s at distance reveal sloppiness really fast.
New and serious problem. my 4500 with usb interface now won't connect to a boot camped mac pro running win 7 or to a surface pro 3 running win 8.1. despite usb driver install andcKestrel communication install. I get Kestrel didn't enter transfer mode or too many crc error codes. Anbody have any...
ANOTHER way to do it: install Windows 7 on a boot camp partition. Is stable/quick, particularly if you need to run some other Win specific programs (I do). You sorta get the "best" of both worlds without the intermediary of a virtual machine
Just wanted to express appreciation to Paul. I had ordered a bolt knob from him for a Stiller Tac 30 whose stock knob kept abrading my trigger finger. When it didn't come in a while I PMd Paul to inquire. He had been down with some back trouble and production was delayed. He promptly sent me...
this is is probably not the "cool" solution but I solved the Mac/ios dilemma as follows. Since I'm Mac-centric I did not want to buy a Windows based computer or tablet. I instead installed Windows 7Pro on a boot camp partition on my Mac Book Pro laptop. I then installed appropriate Kestrel USB...
I've ahead a similar experience with custom plugs. Had mine remade several times in hopes of getting better seal, using a variety of tricks to enhance the casts. Didn't work well enough to prevent some right ear high freq loss and it's associated tinnitus. Kind of a bummer for someone who makes...
Wow, a resurrected long dead thread. I've known Les for more than 25 years and he hand built me some great IPSC race guns in the very early 90s. He does build his own barrels in house. I have a .308 Monolith w 20" barrel and his brake. It shoots .5 MOA or better with 175 SMKs and with Scenars...
Shortbus did the flectarn. He's done several others for me, particularly one urban on a T5A. Absolutely fabulous work. I'm going to be sending him a Tac Ops Delta to paint shortly. You won't go wrong with Branden's work. Give him a try.
Been waiting for this forever. Finally got it thanks to Mike at C.S. Tactical. Mounts are 6 screw Nightforce and reticle is MOAR (I know, I know not mils. I use/like both. Sorry) Will probably use on this rifle and a Tac-Ops Delta that's nearing completion. Glass and controls are great: light...
I had the same problems with SWA 175s in a Les Baer Monolith; also with Federal Match. Not surprising since they are similar loads. This is NOT to disparage SWA: I've purchased thousands of rounds of ammo from them in a bunch of calibers. Their .308s shoot well in my bolt guns so I've relegated...
