I Thought that since I have thoroughly vetted my Cronus BTR I would give my opinion on it so that it may help someone else make an informed purchase. I am a PRS competitor so I have put this scope through the ringer, engaging targets from 100 yards out...
I had the scopes mentioned side by side out on the range. Please remember that I am judging glass by eye, I do not have any scientific method to measure them. To me the glass was slightly clearer then the Vortex scopes. What I noticed during the match was that others were complaining that they...
I Thought that since I have thoroughly vetted my Cronus BTR I would give my opinion on it so that it may help someone else make an informed purchase. I am a PRS competitor so I have put this scope through the ringer, engaging targets from 100 yards out to past 1200 yards on a regular basis. The...
I have one in 6.5, I absolutely love it. I have numerous high end barrels and the Proof is my favorite. It is no more accurate then any of the top barrels but it weights less, runs much cooler, and doesn't shift POI after long strings. They look cool too and are cut rifled which I much prefer. I...
Re: Ways to Display Rifles I have a large room with peg board on the walls in 4x8 sheets. I use heavy duty peg board prongs and hang even my 35lb .50 cal rifle. seems to work real nice. I have about 60 on display. My room is my safe and its secure.
I built a rifle I planned to use competing in F-class. Its a rem 700 in .284 win. It has a Hart 28" barrel and is in an Elisio chassis. The action has been trued and the barrel chambered by a bench rest gunsmith. Accuracy has been dismal. 2" at 100 yards. I noticed that the first few rounds are...
Re: Hart, Kreiger or Bartlein? I just built a .284 with a Hart barrel. I have nothing but copper fouling problems. The first 5 rounds are great then accuracy goes way south. By round 8 my group opens to 3" or more at 100 yards. I called Hart and explained the problem. They were helpfull and...
Re: 338 lapua woes. I have the same issue with my .284. It has a hand lapped hart barrel but I found that after just a few shots it copper fouls real bad and groups open to 3" @ 100 yards. My barrel only has a total of 50 rounds through it and I cleaned it at 15 round intervals. Hart does not...
Re: 284 win build finished!! Mine is .284 also. Throated for 180 bergers. I use nosler match brass in 6.5x.284 necked up. Current load is 52gr of RL-17. Gives me around 2840 fps. I load my rounds to bench rest standards. My problem is my accuracy is pretty poor so far. The rifle was built...
Re: Is it a Krieger or Douglas In my experience a cut rifled barrel is very distinct. You prob dont even need a bore scope to see the "cuts". The grooves in my cut rifled barrels look like individual ridges. Even after lapping it still kinda dull.
Re: Bolt Wouldn't Open! I had the same problem with my .50bmg. It showed no pressure signs but I could not pull the bolt back. The bolt would open a bit hard but it would not cam open without a tap from a rubber mallet. I chambered the barrel myself and I did not polish the chamber area at...
Re: Gun Safe Pics? There are bars on the window and its on the third floor of a very large house. The house has a very good alarm system and is quite secure. The door to the room is steel reinforced. Any safe can be broken into if given enough time...
