I think if you are an average PRS competitor, it doesn't really matter what you shoot with between the 6s and 6.5s. I've shot local PRS matches and did very well with a 6.5 Addiction (50'ish grs of powder under a 140 going 2950). That was an 18# rifle. When I switched to a 22# 6 Creedmoor, I...
I just focus on pulling the rifle with the bipod into my shoulder as well. I don't try to load. Some surfaces are easier or better for loading, so I would see inconsistencies based on amount of loading. I agree, I might very well have a poor technique. With certain AR platform rifles I've...
Not as nice as your Panthera, but when I tune my dreamline with the 21 gr hybrids, I'll take a 7sd. I think 4 or 5 was the best I managed. However, I tune by accuracy at 50 yds and then check the velocity. I could generally get 1-1.5" groups at 100 with the 21 hybrids with my best tune. So...
My 25.5" remage is pushing my 140 hybrid load at 2920, but that was only with 40 rounds down the tube. It started at 2900. After the Barnes load work it has 85 on it. By the time I get to 200 rounds, I expect it to be around 2950. That is where my last 26" barrel ran for most of its accurate...
After about a year of not having an addiction, I put one back together. I was able to put a remage barrel on a Remington 700 that had the bolt face opened a bit. I had 40 rounds left over from my last barrel and they shot great in the new barrel. I worked up a new hunting load with 127 Barnes...
I used a Seekins upper with the integrated hand guard nut. it was much more solid than the upper I had used before. I used a proof barrel, but if I was going to do it again, I would go with Craddock precision. I use and H2, full mass carrier, and adjustable gas block.
Varget turned in decent results for me. Don't expect a lot of speed. I had pressure trouble when I got around 2600 in my proof 20" with 108eld. There seemed to be a speed node around 2530.
I built a 6 ARC about 2 years ago. Admittedly, not much of a gas gunner. But it took me a long time shooting it in matches off and on to get the bugs worked out to where I was comfortable with its performance. I would recommend if you run suppressed to have some type of "flow through"...
The package is no longer available as it was originally listed. I still have the rifle and would be willing to discuss. PM me an email address. Edited and updated original post due to interest.
I have several PM2s and a T96 Polar. The T96 has a P4F reticle and the PM2s either have H59 or T3s. I got an S&B years ago and it was cheaper to upgrade the reticle than buy a new scope when I decided I wanted a Christmas tree. After that they multiplied. Watch the classifieds. It is not...
My son's 6.5 Creedmoor is a great rifle, but that is with handloads. When I look at comfortable ranges that I'm willing to shoot to, www.ballisticstudies.com has some good rules of thumb for velocity floors. Folks will take longer shots and make kills, but the website has some good information...
Tsonka, If memory serves the factory Hornady match 6mm Creedmoor (I'm thinking about getting a barrel in this but haven't yet) are like the 6.5mm Creedmoor and use LR primers. It's not an issue with the LR, it is an issue that shows up when you use a SRP in a rifle that has a firing pin and...
I've shot several thousand small rifle primers in my RPR without an issue shooting 6.5x47. However, I've heard I'm one of the lucky ones and that many RPRs need to have the firing pin turned and the bolt bushed like the Rem 700. Your primers look exactly like my SRPs when I use a Rem 700...
I tested a couple loads for group sizes. Neither rifle shot as well as I would have liked. This testing was strictly group testing/tweaking no velocities. last range trip a 6.5 creedmoor 147 eld/vv555 load had done .8" for 9 shots (round robin one shot per bull and then use On Target to...
