Re: Is a Stainless Action worth the cost? The 700 stainless actions are generally finished better than the cheaper steel Remington lines like the SPS, but there no nicer than the good steel models. Personally I prefer stainless purely for rust resistance

Re: sako optilock 0 moa? If you are trying to figure out how much to lower your front ring by the most accurate way would be to calculate it using trigonometry. If your rings are 100mm apart like mine are on a size M , 85 action you will need to remove 0.58mm to get 20MOA of taper. Like it...

Re: Tips for Loading VLD's in the 25/06 Lakeway and Trailrider thanks for the help, I have a COAL gauge so I'm all set to start experimenting with length, hopefully something good happens.
Hi all On the recommendation of fellow hide members I have decided to try 115 Berger VLD's in my 25/06. I did a ladder test at 600 yards and didn't see any obvious nodes. So i went straight to trying a load of 60gr of H1000 with the bullet about 5 thou off the lands and Remington 9 1/2 primers...
I have a lyman tumbler with walnut media which i have been using to good effect on 25/06 brass. Now I have tried cleaning .223 and the cases come out jammed full of the media, I need to use a wire to clear each case individually. I was wondering what media other people are using which doesn't...
Re: Which rifle to get? Are you going to be walking long distances looking for deer, or playing the sit and wait game? If the former lugging around a heavy barrelled rifle will get old.
