Run M2S Flash light on 12v power outlet?

I was hoping there might be someone on the hide that has some knowledge on LED flash lights that can help me, I have a jet beam M2S and I would like to power it via the 12v power socket in a car. I shouldn't have any problems rigging up the necessary wiring but am wondering if the torch can handle the power. I am currently running 2 x 18650 batteries but the specifications state that it can take up to 4 x CR123 batteries which would result in 12v input power. If need be I can get a regulator to step down the voltage but would rather not if it isn't necessary.
Any help appreciated.

Might want to try this one on candlepowerforums.com too. There's some serious knowledge over there when it comes to this stuff.
