I checked the screws. They are both the same size and front screw is not touching bolt and would not be long enough to anyway. Canuckr- I am trying not to have to jack this rifle/chassis more than I already have. Taking the action from the chassis would require I pry it out yet again since...
Zero off Plus, I can say that there is so much bedding compound around the lug inlet that it could be that. I think this chassis was boned up by bedding in the lug. Plus me pulling it out. No pun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That's what I thought too, but this yahoo basically cemented the lug unto the chassis with bedding compound. I think my plan is to start over and just send the damn thing to a good gunsmith GAP etc. it's above my skill level now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ok, I shot in a competition for two days in the worst dust storm I have seen in a while. Had to pull action to get the trigger out because it was fubar. No grouping now. Scope is good to go. Ie. all screws at proper torque. I think it is just not fitting well because I had to break the lug...
Both sitting at 65"lbs. I have freaking viper skins on my aics. Pain in the ass to work on as you have to take them off to access the screws. No idea why this thin was locked in to a drop in chassis with bedding compound in the first place. Made by Mike Bush a few years ago. Any other...
I took my barreled action of my aics stock, which was bedded in including the lug. Got it back together and now the zero is all over the target. Suggestions?
Re: 6.5 Creedmoor Load Confusion? Had the same issue starting at a lower charge. After reading this post, I will jump up to at least 41 h4350 and work up. Using 140'amax in a gap10 22" barrel. Barrel is still in a break in period with less than 100 rounds through it.
Re: Factory Hornady 6.5 Creedmoor load Well, just finished the breakin on my GAP 10 6.5 creedmoor. First of all using 2.81 OAL proved to be a bit long and would not feed/extract. I checked this with the facotry ammo and it would not cycle either without seating it deeper. Magic depth/OAL...
Re: sudden loss of accuracy w/7.62-sd I have a clean aac 7.62sd (no baffle strikes) and can tell you that I have better accuracy without it. Shooting a UGSW .260 24" 140 amax ~2850 fps.
Re: .260 RL17 load .61 isn't half bad for off the shelf sound good Boiler Range went well for me Shooting around .25 or less 42.6g RL(RE)17 Berger 140g VLD target 2840 AVG FPS from a 24" .260. Rifle is a UGSW Infidel. I am happy. Now I just have to learn how it shoots at distance...
Re: .260 RL17 load Thanks, I will chrono this saturday and post it. No time before the first competition to move to a different powder unless I hit it just right. What is your load on the 139 with h4350? Never heard about rl being hard on barrels, but it seems there are way more people...
