Night Vision Pulsar Digisight n750 Field Test / Review

I wonder if that has been prompted by the launch of the Pulsar DFA75 a day scope forward mounted unit based on the N750 imaging system ? DFA75's have sold well since the delayed launch a few months ago though a second batch are due into the UK around the 1st may with a software update addressing...

    Fieldcraft New NV clip-on

Re: New NV clip-on The thing about this clip on is that it is digital and can be used during the day without fear of damage, the illumination operation range being 0.00004lux - 30,000lux.

    Fieldcraft New NV clip-on

I'm not sure whether this is the right section for this but I'm sure admin will move it if not.... Here in the UK we are eagerly awaiting a new NV clip-on, you guys are spoilt in the USA with many new "toys" such as this but we are not. This is the first proper forward mounted IR NV scope which...

    Too Long - OAL?

Re: Too Long - OAL? One more thing I now use a comparator when measuring COL this has made a big difference, measuring to the bullet tip especially if they are soft points is not too accurate.

A squirrel story from the UK for Sled Dog

They say it's an ill wind which blows nobody any good and the recent prolonged spell of bad weather has done very little good to anyone. However it did me a favour today, it closed one of my golf courses. I was a tad busy - for a change - this morning however I managed to take the afternoon...

    A shooting story - all true !!

Re: A shooting story - all true !! I don't live next door to Steve anymore and to be honest I kinda miss him at times. He did such odd things, like for instance I took him shooting after the above and even though he must have picked up SOMETHING from his previous trip he got out of the car...

    Too Long - OAL?

Re: Too Long - OAL? I went through this Crewchef and at first my COL measurements were garbage, however after some consideration I sorted the problem and got the measurement I needed. Don't forget though if you change your bullet heads the exercise will need to be repeated. COL Measurement

    Measuring Rifle COL or COAL

Re: Measuring Rifle COL or COAL You could use lubrication on the bullet ogive area and it may help but you certainly couldn't use a cleaning rod, we are talking 0.1 of an inch or less, poking the bullet with a cleaning rod would not give an accurate measurement.

    A shooting story - all true !!

My next door neighbour Steve had known for quite some time about my interest in shooting and although he was alright about it, never really expressed an interest himself. Through my work I acquired some excellent shooting on a very big acreage with mixed crops with quarry options of rabbit...

Use enough gun! 50 bmg whitetail deer!!

Re: No rifle is big enough to drop a deer every time!! The most humane area for bullet placement is the boiler house - the heart / lungs, sure if you get the shot right a head shot is good night Viennna but get it slightly wrong and there will potenitally be a deer with no bottom jaw and the...

    Leica Rangefinder

Re: Leica Rangefinder At the time - 6 years ago - I paid £80 or $130 which for the UK was reasonable. I'm not sure how the new version performs but Leice is cracking kit.

    Measuring Rifle COL or COAL

I decided to measure the exact COL for the Sako tonight not difficult and pretty straightforward. Well it wasn't difficult but equally it wasn't straightforward. The idea is to use an empty fire formed case and a bullet head (i.e. no charge) by loading it carefully and then removing and...

    Ruger 77/22

Re: Ruger 77/22 I have had one of these rifles for maybe 15 years or so and I think it's excellent. I feed it Winchester subs which it likes though CCI are a reasonable second. I have taken some amazing shots with the rifle, I recently took a rabbit about 80 yds out which was behind a tree...
