Re: Quality brand names If you want that exact gun with those accessories it's a good price. The barrels shoot almost anything well so I wouldn't worry to much about the twist rate. I'd ask if the rear sight is included because most RRA rifles come with the folding gas block and the rear...
Re: Quality brand names My Rock River Arms is pretty accurate and from my experience and that of some of my friends who have their stuff it shoots almost any ammo well (steel included). I haven't shot tens of thousands of rounds through it so I can't say how durable it is but I'm happy so...
Re: 1st Bolt .308 The chassis replaces the stock so your left with the barrel and action from the Remington 700 being fitted into the AI chassis. The chassis is designed to take magazines and they feed directly into the action. All you would need then is glass and mounting hardware.
Re: Jack3d I've never had any of the side effects that you guys are talking about and I've taken up to the maximum recommended dose (3 scoops). At this point though its irrelevant as its being reformulated without the MDAA it whatever is the active ingredient. Too bad too as the energy...
Re: First Build It's actually cheaper to get the one with the magazine which seems counter intuitive to me. Is there a big disadvantage losing that 1 round? EDIT: I don't see it saying heavy barrel in the description for these, are they the normal profile? If so do they make a stainless...
I'm trying to figure out the final few details of my first build. I'm going to go with a Remington 700 SPS Stainless, it's a 24" 1:10 twist barrel. I'm trying to decide if I want the detachable magazine or the regular bottom metal. It appears that the magazine means you lose 1 round. I'm...
Re: TITANIUM barrels?? I would think they would go carbon fiber before Titanium. Several companies are making lightweight "Heavy" barrels with a steel sleeve center and carbon fiber wrapping to provide the accuracy of a heavy barrel without the weight.
Re: has any one used a otis Deluxe cleaning kit They're great for in the field or if you can't get a straight rod through. For everyday cleaning at home though I'd stick to a cleaning rod. I found having to thread the thing through every time a pain in the ass compared to a rod.
Re: Vortex Viper HS 5-15x44 Mil-Dot Thanks for the re-assurance, now I just gotta finally choose which 700 I want. Tempted to go with a 5r, but if I get an AAC or base 700 I could have a chassis system for about the same price as the 5r.
Re: Vortex Viper HS 5-15x44 Mil-Dot I ordered one of these months ago like many of you and I was wondering if anyone has any range experience with them. How far were you able to use it and what size targets? I'm wondering if this will be suitable for 800m + or if I need to go up to 20-24x...
Re: Which 700 to buy? So it sounds like I need to decide if I want to put more money into the initial purchase and get a stock that is usable or hold of and have to buy one soon after if I got with a base 700. I'll have to find someone locally that has a HS precision stock to see if that's...
Re: M&P 15-22 New barrel The 15-22 takes standard AR triggers so I'd pick out one you like and just throw that in. I've got the Rock River 2 stage national match and love it. It came with my gun (.223 ar) but if I remember right it's only $125 or so to get. I wonder if someone could...
Re: Am i able to reach 1k Depending on the scope your using you could zero at 100 yards near the top of the scope (say 10 moa up or whatever is easy to identify) then you'd gain that much more for you elevation change, and not change a single click until you reach at least 10 moa of...
Re: Field Rifle Being in more of an urban area my weapon of choice would be my 15-22. It's fairly light weight (about 4 lbs) plus I can take it apart and pack it in a backpack. If there were ever a Katrina-esk situation most people wouldn't know it's only a .22.
Re: More sponge painting fun That looks like it'd be way more effective than any of the digital patterns I've seen, and you don't need to mess around with stencils or anything. Plus it looks way more "factory" if that matters to you.
