    Never skinned one to see what internal damage looks like but I handload 53gr VMax for my 55.6. I’ve shot them at 50 yards with them broadside and the bullet didn’t pass through. Never had one take a single step after being shot with those. And I’ve shot several.

    Yes it is. I got it in yesterday. I used a thin and stiff but malleable rod and slid it through the vent holes in the hand guard and pried the end up into the receiver. It didn’t take much once I got something with the right stiffness. But it was an unnecessary pain in the ass.

    I swapped out my buffer and put my SCS from another rifle in and ran 90 rounds through it yesterday without a hitch. I think it was something about the recoil impulse and my trigger technique. Seems like problem is solved though.
