    Colt bolt action rifle

Well if it is based on a CZ 600 action and the 6 lug bolt locks into the barrel rather than the action its off my list. I chamber all my own rifles and that makes things a lot more complicated. CZ and Nexus and some others have gone that way.

    Colt bolt action rifle

I've looked at that one. It's an option for sure. I've been a toolmaker with my own shop for 30 years and there just is not a better way to mate to things together than flat surfaces and dowel pins and bolts. A lot more manufacturers are offering it these days.

    Colt bolt action rifle

Wow this is a tough crowd. With a 6 lug bolt/60 degree throw and Flat bottom action I would have thought it had more going for it rather than being called a 700 clone or boring same old same old. Those are the features I've been on the hunt for a Badger Ordinance 2013 which are like hens...

Gunsmithing Finally a Skull knob I like!

Funny this thread came back to life. A few months ago someone emailed me asking for some. I took them of my own rifles cause he hung in there asking for them. I figured That I better make some more so I have the castings on the way and starting to make more then I see the recent activity...

Meet my very own Voodoo! Been waiting a long time.

Well I think I found the right ammo! Midas + 5 shots at 50 yards. So happy with the Vudoo!

Meet my very own Voodoo! Been waiting a long time.

Well I've been enjoying my Vudoo V22! I put Vortex Diamond Back tactical FFP 6-24 on it and like it so far. Wish it had zero stop though. I've shoot several of the suggested go to ammo but have a few Lapua that I'm trying to get my hands on to try. So far the SK Rifle looks promising...

Meet my very own Voodoo! Been waiting a long time.

I've watched you guys with your fancy Voodoo V22 and wanted one so bad! Finally got the funds to get one and was so excited I had to post pictures before I even had a scope or shot it yet. The Bell & Carlson stock was not my first choice but it was...

Meet my very own Voodoo! Been waiting a long time.

Surprisingly I like the feel of it. You feel the roundness of the top of the skull and your fingers curl under the chin nicely. Here is a comparison with a scope on. I think there is a little more room to move the thread boss out which would create more room yet. I will try one. Feed back...

Meet my very own Voodoo! Been waiting a long time.

The bolt knob is one I make here in my shop. I always wanted a good looking skull bolt knob and over the last couple years trying different ones I finally found someone that does an investment cast Stainless Steel Skull that was the right size, detail and quality . I finish the machine work...

Meet my very own Voodoo! Been waiting a long time.

I got very lucky that a friend ordered a barrelled action and was on the wait list but while waiting they announced the three lug single shot so I bought the repeater when he got it and he ordered the single shot. I think it was a 8-10 weeks out when he ordered as well. That's why I jumped at...

Gunsmithing Finally a Skull knob I like!

Yes, when the bolt is closed the face is looking to the right and in its usual vertical orientation. And of all the directions I have tried the feel of that is the best. Someone wanted on facing forward but the jaw and face were very intrusive on your fingers. dsmachine at cox dot net if...

Finally a Skull knob I like!

It may not be everyones cup of tea but I have been working on getting it just the way I want it. This is about the 10th attempt. Getting the right size and detail in a cast stainless skull has proven tough. I've finally found the right one. Playing...

Gunsmithing Finally a Skull knob I like!

This was one of the earlier attempts that sort of felt good but just fell short for what I liked. This one was solid and Heavy! I'm real loaded with work in the shop and this was just a side thing because I've always wanted just the right one. But if anyone wants one I will be doing batches...

Gunsmithing Finally a Skull knob I like!

Yes, I could do more of them. Someone else has the mold and makes them for me. I thought about doing the casting my self but just didn't make sense to learn that too. It would be best to have the bolt in my shop to fit the orientation just right unless someone wanted to file or shim it. I have...

Yeah, I had to make the extended neck for my Surgeon but the ones I'm doing for my buddy's are the short ones.

Gunsmithing What actions are avialable the are most like the Surgeon 591

I have chambered a couple Defiance Rebel actions and did note just how nice they are but I did not know they made the Deviant action. That is very nice. When I chambered the Defiance Rebel actions one of them needed a bolt swap for a new bolt face and I called Defiance. Very good guys to deal...
