Hello all, I'm in need of some experienced help. I have a r700 ADL varmint that I want to put in a boyds stock with a timney 517 trigger. The trigger is a straight trigger with safety. Trigger - Remington Straight Replacement Trigger Stock - Boyds: PRO VARMINT REMINGTON 700 BOLT ACTION...
Are these as accurate as Forster trimmers? I already have basic tools like this, but you are absolutely right they weren't on the list so thank you for double checking.
First of all, thanks for the input. I only plan on .308 at the moment. I don't shoot anything else yet and don't really have plans to any time soon. With the gempro scale, would it be feasible to just get that scale and use a dipper kit? Would save me about $225 making that switch right there.
Hello all. Over the last year and a half I've been getting in to long range/f-tr shooting. I've come to the point now where I want to start reloading. I run a remington 700 in .308 and have been shooting FGMM. I have my brass saved up and would like to start pulling together a reloading setup...
Looking to replace the stock trigger on my R700. Main use of the rifle will be F-T/R and tactical matches. I have 2.5 questions: 1. Which brand of replacement trigger would you pick, and why? 2. What is the pro/con for getting a replacement trigger without a safety? Also, why do some...
ADL 26in. I just shot some 2 weeks ago and from 200-600 yards my adjustment reflected a fps of 2400. I'm trying to figure out what the actual issue is right now, but I too saw a much lower fps than expected.
Yea that is what I'm worried about. I don't have a chronograph to check against unfortunately. I did a box test with the scope when I first got it and it tracked ok. I haven't dropped it or anything since so I wouldn't think there would be an issue. I'll try and do another one next time I'm at...
Zero was 200. Confirmed 15 min before shooting at 600 yards. I would have thought the same thing if I didn't shoot at 200 just before going to 600. I have some 168s and A-Max 155s that I'm going to try out and see what results I get. Is this a common problem with stock 700s?
Ok thanks, I'm just really surprised by that much of a difference. I guess if the consistency isn't too awful I'll still just burn out this barrel before switching to 260. All environmentals were factored in as well as gun setup. I hear what you're saying but I only had access to a bench for...
I was at my club yesterday getting certified to fire on our 600 yard range and was very puzzled with my results. I'm hoping to have some light shed on what I am missing. Rifle: Rem 700 ADL 26 in barrel Scope: Vortex 6-24 HS XL FFP Ammo: FGMM 175 (2600 fps) So the qualifying was in 2...
I have that exact scope. I find it to fit my need perfectly. I didn't buy it planning to shoot high power targets that would require fine tuning 1/4 or 1/8 turns but rather an all around scope. The 1/2 turns are nice because you can get 24 MOA of elevation in one turn. I didn't really care about...
I'm bored and got to thinking about the math behind moving my .308 scope (on bobro QD mount) over to my 22LR trainer. I just wanted to post my thoughts and see if you all agree or disagree with my math. I have no idea if this concept is sound or not. By calculating ballistics with a 0 yard zero...

Re: Vortex Viper HS LR FFP scopes with XLR reticle Just took mine to the range today for the first time. Love it! Very glad I sprung a few extra bills to get it.
Re: Bobro mount for viper 6-24 on r700 Thank you. Too high is ok, I can adjust my cheek weld height. I was just worried about clearance on the barrel. I've never had a 50mm objective so I was just a little concerned.
