    9mm

The COAL is what is listed in the book. The XTP's are a little finicky with some seating stems. If your COAL is all over the place, swap the stem out for another design.

    9mm

Hornady 124gr XTP - Starline Brass - CCI #500's - 7.1 grains of AA#7 = 1125fps out of a G17 G5 and a Sig M18 @ 60° F 1/2" of barrel length difference between the two meant nothing. I did have several of the batch make it into the high 1140's. The previous session was fired in 75°'ish temps...

    10mm Auto

I load for a Glock 20 G4 with a Lone Wolf barrel that is the same length as the OEM barrel. Hornady 180gr XTP's - New Starline Brass - CCI #300 - 13.0 grains of AA#9 = 1150-1200 fps depending on the season, and how heavy, or light handed i was throwing charges. The OEM barrels velocity seem to...

CCI 34 vs CCI 200 Primers

I have done a lot of side by side comparisons with 200's and 34's. I have not seen any evidence over my lab radar of higher velocities with 34's. In disbelief of my own data, due to so many online saying it is a magnum primer i called CCI and spoke with a tech there. He also verified my...

AR-308 Accuracy problems. Gas tube alignment could be the culprit. Suggestions?

I made it out to the range yesterday and was able to shoot a few 10 shot groups. No doubt things needed to settle in. I brought 12 cases with 41.5 grains of IMR 4895 and Sierra 168GR MK'S out to start the party. The first 2 went into the same hole, the next 5 shot group was erratic and had me...

AR-308 Accuracy problems. Gas tube alignment could be the culprit. Suggestions?

I looked online for the tool and could not find one for AR308. Brownells has the small frame version on sale right now.... I had shim stock on hand from things that are un firearm related. This morning drinking coffee, i was reading through some threads and found the tool at pacific tool and...

AR-308 Accuracy problems. Gas tube alignment could be the culprit. Suggestions?

I ended up getting some shim stock, and going that route. The barrel is in the receiver, straight, looking good and not coming out. The receiver and barrel extension where a good match to begin with. Now they are bonded for life... It seems. Will report next week when i can get to the range.

AR-308 Accuracy problems. Gas tube alignment could be the culprit. Suggestions?

I just read a post from LRRPF52 about bedding the barrel. Seems i have a Zediker book around someplace that talks about gluing the barrel in.

AR-308 Accuracy problems. Gas tube alignment could be the culprit. Suggestions?

Much has happened since. For starters i did order the SLR adjustable gas block as Bfoosh006 mentioned. In fact it does present the gas tube higher. Unfortunately i measured twice and ordered once. And i measured wrong. I bought the clamp on variety, and had to grind the block and my hand-guard...

AR-308 Accuracy problems. Gas tube alignment could be the culprit. Suggestions?

I have put together so many AR's complacency got me. After going through a Criterion barrel, then upgrading to a Krieger barrel i still can't get the rifle to shoot. Today i pulled the bolt out of the carrier and ran the carrier back and forth inside the receiver. I found out it was a bit...

    Federal Match AR primer ??

I have used the AR-Match primers extensively. They are not hot like the CCI #41. They do however have great ignition characteristics. When used with the normal match type powders, velocities are very consistent.

Problems reloading precision ammo with Hornady 75gr BTHP

Oh boy.... Not every barrel likes every bullet. Does not mean the bullet is bad. I have learned this so many times. Try N135 and N140 and get back to us. If those do not work... Save your 75's for another barrel, or your next barrel. No sweat!

Load data for lever action rifles in the pistol calibers, like 44mag, 357mag, 45LC?

Texas Haag, Those pesky reloading manuals are the place to find information. Check out the Sierra and Hornady manuals. Both have rifle loads for the calibers you have listed. In the Hornady manual you can find hotter loads for some calibers in the Ruger/TC section. Rossi rifles can be...

.308 169 grain Sierra Match King. Required twist to stabilize?

Howdy all, I had an old 11 twist barrel that i was going to give these a try in. I gave up on that barrel and sent it back... 1st time i have ever done that, and hopefully the last time. In an extreme effort to get it right this go around i ordered a Kreiger barrel with a 1:12 twist for my...

    5.56 AR Only Loads

.003-.004 bump is perfect. If you keep your chamber clean all the time .003 would be preferred. 2,660fps + "could be" too hot out of a 15 inch barrel. I suppose it "could be" that your barrel is very special and is just plain fast.

    Brass for 77 TMK AR15

Running an over gassed machine above design pressure, and with slow burning powders is asking for malfunctions. I know in your first post you meant you wanted to run them as hot as you could, expecting 100% pure reliability. It is true that you can get max velocity with some slower powders...

    5.56 AR Only Loads

I wish i had that much! Apologies if my post was offensive. I have 1000 new in the box that i have yet to fire. Still making my way through LC NATO brass. Also a fan of Johny!

    5.56 AR Only Loads

I have seen folks do case capacity tests with fired brass vs. unfired brass. This is a bad idea. Here is a link to Starline's website and their take on the different case capacities between 223 REM and 5.56 brass https://www.starlinebrass.com/556x45mm-brass
