Official Accuracy International AT First Look

Have there been any changes in the bolt head or firing pin? I'm wondering if the AT would work better with the 6.5x47L than the AW and AE did.

What stops the AICS magazine from moving upward?

If I recall, before the barreled action was installed in the AICS, the magazine was free to travel up through the magwell until the bottom plate on the magazine bottomed out on the chassis. With the receiver in place, the travel of the magazine is stopped. What part of the receiver is stopping...

Alpha Type 2 Mag in Tac 30 A/W?

Would the Alpha Type 2 magazine (single feed like the AICS mag) work properly in a Stiller Tac 30 A/W to feed properly with longer COAL without having to make magazine latch modifications (like is sometimes needed when converting to AW mags?) If the problems some people have had with magazine...

V block width in Accuracy International Chassis (AICS or AX)

Thanks for the help! I'm not ready to make my own chassis--I was just looking to calculate clearances on an octogon action (Stiller Spectre).

V block width in Accuracy International Chassis (AICS or AX)

Does anyone have a measurement of the width of the flat section between the 45 degree Vee on an AX or AICS chassis? In photos it looks like it's about .350" or so, but I really have no idea. Thanks!

    Gunsmithing MK13 MOD6/300WM MK248 MOD1

How do you stop the magazine from reaching too far into the magwell? On these chassis the mag release only controls the downward movement of the magazine, correct? Doesn't the action stop the upward movement of the magazine? You're at the mercy of the magazine shape and the shape of the...

New Integral Rail Action From Stiller PICS

Have you completed any builds on one? Do you see any performance advantages over a TAC 30? Is there a performance advantage to having a separate recoil lug? Since the action is already not round and is quite expensive, I can't imagine saving a couple dollars of machining time was the reason...

    Stiller's Tactical Actions

If you use the AICS magazine in an AICS chassis with the standard TAC 30 (not the AW model), do you ever see the bolt flutes binding on the magazine lips?

    Gunsmithing MK13 MOD6/300WM MK248 MOD1

I can't tell from the photo: is the bolt body fluted on this like it is on the TAC300? Some people had problems with the TAC30 flutes binding on AICS magazine feed lips. Any trouble in this system?

Stiller TAC 30 AW compatibility with AICS magazines

Iggy--what stock were you using where you see this problem. On an AICS with a 700 I'm only seeing about .010" of movement in the mag when I pull down and when I push up on it. It seems to be stopping on the action or the bottom of the chassis. I don't see any wear on the bolt or feed lips...

    Off Center firing pin strikes

My rifle sometimes hits the center of the primer, and sometimes it's obviously off center. I guess that means there's some clearance between the firing pin and the hole in the bolt. Does this matter for accuracy? Does the primer care where it is struck?

Fluted firing pin for Rem 700

Are the firing pins in Remington 700s usually fluted? I thought that they were not, but I just saw the factory firing pin from an XCR compact tactical 308, and it had four flutes and looked similar to the fluted ones offered by PTG.

    Stiller MK13 information, please

I'm curious about what Stiller is building for the MK13, but pretty much everything I find is the same article from 2010 that says the contract was awarded. What's been going on since then? All I've found is that it has "improved tolerances" and it has an anti corrosion coating on the firing...

    Stiller's Tactical Actions

Once you set up the rifle for AW mags, does it still work with AICS mags? Does raising the height of the magazine cause any problems with interference of the magazine lips and the flutes in the bolt? There have been a couple guys on this site that said that the flutes on the bolts of their...

Stiller TAC 30 AW compatibility with AICS magazines

If the bolt stops the magazine, does it matter what the receiver cut is? Would there be a difference with the TAC 30 vs. the TAC 30 AW? I guess I never noticed the magazine stopping against the bolt. I just assumed the lip on the bottom of the magazine stopped against the bottom of the stock...

Stiller TAC 30 AW compatibility with AICS magazines

Do you have the TAC 30 or the TAC 30 AW?

Stiller TAC 30 AW compatibility with AICS magazines

Do you notice it with 5 round as well as 10 round mags? Does the 5 round stop against the stock?

Stiller TAC 30 AW compatibility with AICS magazines

I saw a post where someone had problems with the flutes on the bolt of the Stiller TAC 30 catching the lips of an AICS mag if there was any pressure applied to the bottom of the magazine. I'm not sure what the physical difference is between a TAC 30 and a TAC 30 AW, but if the magwell cut is...

    bead blasting melonite

Does media blasting (like prepping for cerakote) hurt a melonited surface? Since salt bath nitriding isn't supposed to "grow" on the surface, that implies that the hardening INTO the surface. If you're just cleaning and roughing the surface without trying to remove too much material, does the...
