Nice rifle! I kinda like the idea of a 1903A3. Common caliber, and I already have some brass. Anybody know of a good source for these?

I will use this rifle for close range deer hunting occasionally. But mostly I would just like to have a rifle that doesn't have a scope on it. I was thinking like 1960s or newer. Mil-surp is an option I guess I'm just not sure about the calibers they come in and reloading possibilities.

I'm thinking I might want an older rifle with iron sights. Something with a wood stock. Considering I don't know a lot about rifles like this I'll ask for your thoughts. This would not be something I would really want to put a scope on.

I have an 18" 243. It's a pretty much stock savage 11 with a cut-down barrel. It's very light and handy. I have shot the 95 gr berger VLD at about 2800 FPS, but I wasn't pushing it. The downsides are that it is very loud (I don't have a brake on it) and it has more recoil than I thought it...

Between a POF, Sig 716, and DPMS G2? This would be mostly for range use, with occasional hunting.

Got out to the range today and ran another OCW with H4350 and 140 Hybrids. Better results than Varget. Rifle One of the best of the day

Yeah it could. H4831SC was the only thing I could find when I loaded those rounds. I'll be looking for H4350 more now anyway since I have 2 6.5x47's.

Finally got out and shot this today. Here are some results with Win brass, 210M's, H4831SC, and 95 Gr Berger VLD's. 44.0 Gr = 2700 FPS 44.5 Gr = 2730 FPS 45.0 Gr = 2755 FPS 45.5 Gr = 2790 FPS 46.0 Gr = 2850 FPS I could probably go up more as there were no pressure signs at 46.0, but...

Are magnum primers the way to go? I have about 1000 CCI 400's and a few hundred BR4's.

What primer is everyone using for this cartridge? I just ordered a barrel in this chambering, I'm trying to get an idea what to look for as far as components.

Made one of these tonight. Filled it with rice and sewed in some Velcro on 1 side so I can change the amount of filler.

Will the primers be useful for anything after I do this?

So I recently got rid of my 22-250 and I had some loaded rounds left over. I am pulling the bullets now and I am wondering what to do with the primers. Any ideas?
