TriggerTech flat shoe & Magpul bottom metal question...

Awesome, thank you! Great to hear that it fits better than the Timney.

TriggerTech flat shoe & Magpul bottom metal question...

Thanks for the feedback! Just to clarify, you have Magpul's detachable magazine conversion installed and not just the Hunter 700 stock, correct? It's possible to use them independently of one another, so I just wanted to make sure we were on the same page.

16-18" bolt action killin rigs: show em.

No problem! Boyd's laminates and MDT's full chassis systems are the only replacements I'm aware of for them. The factory stock feels and sounds cheap, has a low comb, and the forend flexes with little effort, BUT it is aluminum pillar bedded and has a flush DBM, so for a hunting rig most of that...

TriggerTech flat shoe & Magpul bottom metal question...

Would anyone happen to know if the TriggerTech flat shoe trigger drops into Magpul's bottom metal / DBM trigger guard without modification? I'm aware that the Timney 517 requires cutting of the inside of the Magpul trigger guard for clearance, and I'm wondering if this is universal for all...

    Budget adjustable inch/pound torque wrench

Same here, no complaints with the FAT wrench. Just be sure to crank the adjustment down before storing it to maintain it's accuracy for the long run. It's far from the best tool around, but at or under $45 it's the best deal going, I think.

Suppressors Any stocking Griffin dealers here?

I don't imagine you'd care to elaborate on that, would you? I've noticed the same thing locally... I wonder if they're having issues like SiCo.

16-18" bolt action killin rigs: show em.

I like the American Ranch Compact a lot, not much I can say bad about it for such a low-dollar rig. It's about 6-1/2lbs loaded and I think the whole thing as it sits - optics and all - cost around $650. Hard to find much fault with it given that... but Ruger discontinued this short LOP "compact"...

Rifle Scopes Torn between two new scopes... Leupold LRP vs. Vortex PST Gen 2

Thanks for the first-hand feedback on the LRP! Now that I have been talked into an illuminated FFP scope, it almost pains me to reconsider the Leupold again, ha! It seemed ideal two weeks ago, now I'm not so sure after reading all the suggestions from others on what I should be looking for in my...

Rifle Scopes Torn between two new scopes... Leupold LRP vs. Vortex PST Gen 2

Thank you all very much for the helpful replies! You have made my mind up for me, and I'm probably going with the Gen 2 PST 3-15 FFP with the MOA reticle/turrets. A ~$1,000 optic is probably quite inexpensive for most folks on this board, but it will be one of the most expensive I have ever...

Rifle Scopes Torn between two new scopes... Leupold LRP vs. Vortex PST Gen 2

I appreciate the insight. I've been shooting primarily SFP scopes for over 10 years, but very little in a precision / mid-to-long range shooting context. I'm a little out of my element here, so maybe I don't actually know what I want as much as I thought I did. With that said, and it may...

Rifle Scopes Torn between two new scopes... Leupold LRP vs. Vortex PST Gen 2

Thank you all for the helpful responses... this has been very eye-opening. I will admit that my experience with Leupold has been all positive, but entirely limited to scopes in the $300-$500 range. I had never heard anyone speak poorly of Leupold in comparisons to other brands, either, although...

Suppressors Hey Thunderbeast Guys and Sig guys. Questions about Ultra 7, 9, and SRD762TI-qd.

I don't think anyone took anything as trolling, you have perfectly legitimate questions. I would personally go with the Ultra 7 over the 9 since you plan to use it on an SBR. Since the whole point of an SBR is compactness, throwing a 9" can on the end seems a little counter-intuitive. Again, my...

Rifle Scopes Torn between two new scopes... Leupold LRP vs. Vortex PST Gen 2

The PST Gen 2 and LRP are both available in FFP, but all three I've mentioned are SFP. I am specifically after SFP scopes with MOA turrets/reticles in the 3x - 16x range available for $1,000 or less. And internal elevation might matter to me because I'm using this on a short barrel in a 0 MOA...

    "Kinda new", from AZ

Hi all, I've been a member for a number of years but never posted much. There's lots of great info I've learned from here, so I figured it's about time I start contributing and frequenting the site more often. I'm no professional by any stretch and I am just barely dipping my toes into the...

    Suppressors Silencer Sale

I wish I was in a position to purchase right now... I would definitely take one of those Ultra 7 CB's off your hands. How long do you anticipate this pricing to be good for? You're about $200 cheaper than my local dealer and I wouldn't have to pay almost 9% sales tax. Even after the transfer fee...

Suppressors Hey Thunderbeast Guys and Sig guys. Questions about Ultra 7, 9, and SRD762TI-qd.

My favorite dealer also owns a Sig store that they opened right next door not too long ago and I've been to one of their demo shoots. Needless to say, they push Sig cans pretty hard. I got to hear them in person in comparison to the AACs and SiCos they had on hand, and they all sounded pretty...

16-18" bolt action killin rigs: show em.

I really dig this thread, right up my alley. :) Here are mine... top is a 16.1" RARRC in .300 Blackout with 12" LOP (with a hard plastic butt plate I made myself), tuned trigger, Talley lightweight ringmounts, Leupold 2-7x Ultralight, Hornady Bolt Ball, and a basic web sling. It weighs 6.6lbs as...

Faxon single-chamber .300/7.62 "Loud Mouth" brake review

I recently purchased a Faxon single-chamber .300/7.62 "Loud Mouth" brake and figured I'd share my thoughts on it. It was purchased as a placeholder (I'm in limbo over what suppressor I want to purchase, so I knew I'd be upgrading to a fixed QD mount in the future). As such, I didn't want to drop...
