I finally got my LMT MWS 308 to shoot. I have the first gen model; I swapped the original chrome lined barrel for a 18" stainless which helped. I also added a SureFire muzzle brake and a Geiseel comp trigger. My groups tightened up when I changed the trigger spring and reduced trigger pull to...
It really depends on personal preference. The Harris is ugly looking but fast to deploy and fold, dependable, and of more "tactical" use. The atlas is clean and smooth looking but I believe the way the legs fold would be a PIA in a tactical or quick use situation, BUT on my AR platform I've...
Have a 1st gen LMT MWS .308 and recieved a SS .308 replacement barrel today ( hoping to improve accuracy). The barrel was a much tighter fit to insert into the upper than the original chrome lined barrel was. The first bolt ( one that hold the barrel through the notch) would not fully insert by...
Like the previous poster said, LMT makes high quality parts and their trigger is better than most factory ones; it still doesn't compare to a geissele. I just upgraded my LMT 2 stage to a geissele match and am happy with the results.
If your getting .8 to 1 moa with the CL barrel I would say that's pretty good. Mine shoots about 1.5. I've seen groups of the obr around the .5 range but I don't think it's worth the trade in your case, especially if you think your capable of eventually shooting better with your LMT.
Congrats on a good shooting rifle. Larue has a very nice quick detach for grip for when you want to shoot off a rest. I have one on my lmt and I love it.
Yeah I would call the 90 degree offsets. I originally planned to mount them under the scope but the rear wouldn't fit.. So I figured I'd try the side rails, seems to work okay but I haven't sighted them in yet.
I had the gun your talking about and it was a good factory shooter. An honest .75 moa rifle out of the box. Definitely have it bedded. I saw areas where the bipod caused the stock to make contact with the barrel.
Thanks for the replys, I plan to swap out the trigger for a gessiel and see if that enables me to print a better group then plan to switch the CL for SS barrel. Between the two, I would think it would Have to make a noticeable difference.
No offense taken. I'm not completely ruling the shooter out, it just seems to be consistently printing the same groups. I've only shot around 60-80 rounds.. I've removed the barrel, re torqued it, and will run a wire brush down the barrel a few times. I've heard of the barrel needing to be re...
I've read a lot of the same .5 moa stories. I don't expect that but I'd like a constant 1moa. I just wonder if the difference in barrels would help. I've tried several types of ammo and grains and they seem to shoot about the same. I'm stocking up on Hornady TAP 168 Amax.
My Lmt 308 is shooting about 1.5 moa. Two bullets almost touching and the third about an inch to an inch and a half high. (Not necessarily in that order.) The question is will the SS barrel net we atleast a quarter moa improvement? I'm also thinking the trigger could be a culprit too. Anyone...
