The cost difference is really deceptive as while the guns themselves are about twice the cost the barrels for the AXMC are about half the cost of the SRS. The AXMC is also much higher quality with much, much better magazines.

Am I reading this right that it's $20/mo now to post in the EE?

I'd just shoot the 300WM. Then again 1200yds is well within the range of something like the 6.5CM/260Rem and either would be cheaper to shoot and have much less recoil. I sold my 300WM because I don't get over 1K much. The 260Rem load I use is still supersonic at 1200yds.

I've always thought the TacOps rifles looked nice but I just don't understand their cost given their features compared to something like an AI which I can have in my hands the next day.

I've cycled the bolt on a few of them and none of them were anywhere near as good as a Tikka.

I realize that now. I just hadn't seen that kind of difference in any Hornady manual where they group the bullets by weight and they all show the same load data.

It's a Hornady 140gr BTHP so yeah it very well could just be the fact their data uses that Nosler bullet for the 140gr data. Looking at the 142gr SMK that very well could be it considering their Starting and Maximum loads are 2.5gr *higher* than with the Nosler.

I find it crazy that the Hodgdon data is so low. I think I'll step up to 39.0 and then go in .5gr grain increments until I get to 41.0gr and then work up in .3gr increments from there. Thanks for the info!

I formed some brass using Winchester 308Win brass to try out with my new rifle that has a 23" barrel. The attached day from Hodgdon says 39.0gr is max so I stopped at 38.0gr in testing. There were no pressure signs but the 140gr Hornady BTHP was going really slow at 2375fps. I'm looking. Now...
