Larue OBR/Magpul Art of the Precision Rifle

So I just finished watching Art of the Precision Rifle which had some good info but overall seemed like a big commercial for various vendors. I noticed Todd make the comment that the Larue OBR was much more accurate than other AR makers because Mark knows how to run his CNC machines and makes...

    TAB Sling Issues

I got a TAB sling recently and am having an issue with it. When you tighten the sling to your upper arm with that sliding plastic piece it doesn't stay tight. I have to keep readusting it to keep it tight. Any secret to making this work? It seems like that plastic slider should have some...

    Tempilstik

After reading an annealing article on 6mmbr I took their recommendation to use Tempilstik (the crayon) instead of Tempilaq (the liquid). The problem is Tempilstik doesn't work, it won't mark the brass, all I can get is some powder after rubbing the case like crazy. Well off to order some...

    Advanced Marksmanship Subscription Clarification

Can someone clarify a few things for me. I don't understand what the $150.00, 5 day trial is about when underneath it you can pay $10.00/month for 30 days? So that would be $120/year or $150.00 for the 5 day trial? There's something I'm not reading correctly.

Advanced Marksmanship How Much Movement Is Normal?

Let's say you are using a bolt action rifle with a bipod on a wooden table in the sitting position. At 100 yards how many inches away from the target is it normal for the reticle to drift? I know you can never hold the rifle perfectly still like a vise but should you be able to keep it within...

    Watch Out for GPal

I was enthusiastic to use a service that supported gun owners, at least through the name before they switched from gunpal to gpal. Anyways I made a withdrawal to my bank account on June 2, still no money in my account. I sent an email to Gpal about a week ago, no response. They don't post a...

Rifle Scopes New USO SN3 Glass Quality

Well after waiting a hell of a long time my custom USO came in. SN3, 3.2-17X, EREK, T-pal, illuminated reticle. I was a bit worried after reading some reviews here about the glass quality of USO. This was actually my second USO but I sold the first one soon after getting it because I needed...

    45 ACP Brass Prep

I deburr the flash hole and uniform primer pockets when loading 223 and 308. I'm wondering if doing this for pistol rounds, specifically 45 ACP , would make a noticeable difference.

    AR Load Variation

Has anyone experienced a large variation in max loads tolerated between two different AR rifles both rated for 5.56 or 223 with the same barrel length?

    Dillon 650 and Varget

I've been using TAC lately to load .223 and the Dillon 650s powder thrower is dead on to the tenth of a grain almost every time. What kind of variability should I expect with Varget?

    Removing Brass Shavings

Recently I've paid more attention to prepping my .223 brass and uniform the primer pocket as well as deburr the flash hole. After doing this I tap each round on a flat surface until no more brass shavings come out. Then after about 800 cases I put them in a tumbler with corncob and the...

    Nickel LC Cases

I've only loaded brass cases so far and just received some nickel 223 LC cases, probably from some TAP ammo. Should they be treated any differently than brass? Do they have the same life span as brass?

Dillon Super Swage Works 100X Better

I got my super swage not too long ago and have used it on thousands of .223 rounds. I noticed some online videos and how easily they were pushing the handle up and down. Trying to duplicate that would get me almost no crimp removal. I decided to open it up and it was BONE DRY! Apparently it...

    Uniquetek Clamped Dillon Toolhead

I haven't tried out the clamped toolhead these guys have and am just thinking out loud here. I thought about the way the original Dillon toolhead was designed and seems to me to be a better design. The slight movement the toolhead has from being pinned rather than clamped acts similiar to how...

    In Depth Reloading Books

I have the new Nosler, Hornady, Sierra, Lyman, etc.. reloading books and all the info in them is pretty basic and seems to be oriented for begginers. What reloading manuals go into more depth?

    Competition/BR Seating Dies for Progressives

Are there any good competition/benchrest seating dies that will work in a progressive (Dillon 650) press. I have read that a lot of them won't fit, too short I think.

    Magnum Primers

When can you substitue magnum primers in your loads? I'm loading some .223 and can't find in my 5 reloading manuals any mention of magnum primers for the 77grain Sierra bullets I'm using. They mostly state to use Remington 7 1/2s. Is it acceptable to substitue magnums for the max loads listed?

    Pumpkin Turner

I'm about to buy the Pumkin turner and was wondering if I can use the Sinclair expander mandrel and their die instead of the Nielson die/mandrel. Sinclair sells theirs for about $25 for the die and $9 for the expander mandrel while the Nielson is $50 and $25 respectively.

    Concentricity Problems

I just received my Sinclair concentricity tool today and started checking the .223 rounds I loaded. I used a Giraud to trim the brass. I am getting about 20% less than .004, 15% less than .005, and 65% more than .005. I had a lot of problems with uneven chamfer using the Giraud because I was...

    Powder Dropping on Press

Is it normal for small amounts of powder to drop on the shellplate? I have a Dillon 650 and every time I load there are always grains of powder falling on the shellplate. I'm talking about maybe 30 grains after loading 500 rounds.
