I tested the shit out of the mount on one of my 50's and it held zero good and has not moved after well over 500 rounds so far. I didn't plan to keep this mount on this gun but because its held up Its now going to stay.
I have a Barrett 95 with a 27 MOA rail and forgot it was not a 0 MOA rail when I purchased a Larue 50 BMG scope mount that has 30 MOA built in so now the two = 57 MOA  When the old scope was on it and zeroed at 100 I clamped the gun down and put the scope on bulls eye at 100 yards then...
For the price they want for the clamp on it should save you $ to have the barrel threaded and purchase a brake to fit. + if later you decide to try a silencer your barrel will be ready for it.
Have the barrel threaded concentric to the bore like it should be then if later on you decide to try a can you wont get baffle strikes. Not all gunsmiths thread concentric to the bore so ask before you have the work done.
Strange as most machines you can run the barrel through the head/machine and even keep the receiver on. Metric or standard action/receiver threads wont matter if you dont replace the barrel and have a custom bushing shoulder with threads made on the stock barrel. How small diameter is the muzzle...
Thats how the job gets done wrong as chances are at least one of the two barrels he needs done is shaped like a banana. Threading between centers most of the time will not give you concentric to the bore threads and shoulder. The last 3-4 inches of the barrel is what guides the bullet, the...
A good gunsmith will dial in the barrel from the bore to thread, crown and add a shoulder like the one in the picture, but a gunsmith with love for the art will make that shoulder to barrel joint invisible for the eye to see.
