That's crazy, I had no idea it had become so hard to find. I haven't bought it in a number of years and honestly just don't fool with it anymore. I haven't ordered components since a big order I put in just before the COVID rush wiped things out.
Guga can certainly do that to you with some videos. Usually have to find a good butcher to get that cut as I have looked around in grocery stores for the past year or so and have yet to find it that way. Maybe next time I go to the actual butcher I'll look too, I just always forget about it. Now...
A Dillon RT1500 makes quick work of it on a progressive, unless you are only shooting a small amount I wouldn't bother pay extra for brass that has been converted. Just find some good milsurp once fired brass at the best price you can and get to converting!
Too bad you're not local, I'd send a pound of trail boss your way. I don't really load subsonic 308 anymore and have a couple pounds laying around. Only subs I bother loading anymore are pistol rounds or 300 blackout.
Dillon is the way to go in my book. I don't love that Lyman bought out Mark 7 and you could not pay me to take a Hornady LNL press (been there, done that, never again). I run a 650 and an 1100. The 1100 I only run 9mm and 223 through as the change over on a 1050/1100 is a bit more involved...
Watched that earlier today and was curious to see what others have encountered on that subject. Also was surprised to see how hard that rear charging handle was to operate. The weight...well, we already knew she was a porker and I can't say my large frame ARs are exactly light weight either...
I have watched a number of his videos and honestly tend to agree with him, including this particular video. It is just another variable that I would not want to have to fool with as things change from day to day or due to the device setting changing and not realizing it until later on. Many of...
Lightly used, works great, priced at $400 shipped. Pictured is the unit itself, but I have two torches available to send with it if you would like them. They are basic torches, but if you need some they will certainly get you started.
Of the rifles you have mentioned, AI all day long. I really love the AI platform, though I know they are not for everyone. If you can try one out, do it!
Honestly I never found the ultrasonic particularly useful for cleaning brass. Too small of batches and not fast enough compared to the larger batches I typically run. I have never measured this so I honestly cannot comment on the work hardening part.
Maybe it is a waste of time, but I do not like bringing in filthy brass into the house with small kids who like to hang out in my reloading room. I don't do it for any performance reasons, but merely to limit the filth that comes into the house and I don't love the feel of seating on strictly...
Had the V3 since shortly after it was released and upgraded to the V4 shortly after it became available. For me, the V3 was the easier trickler to run and was more consistent. However, the V4 fit my needs of getting around the issue I was having with my wife bumping the trickle when she would...
Surprised I have not seen more people suggest the method I've since switched to: Wet tumble no pins, case prep, wet tumble no pins to get the lube off, then finish off with a round of corn cob in the tumbler with polish. Helps shine up the brass a little more, but more importantly it seems to...
