Was it an 18" or 16"? I know several of people were really impressed to see how well that ran at 1000y.

I effin' hate Facebook but PRS makes me do it

So, as the title says, I'm pretty much over Facebook. The thing that keeps me from deleting my FB account is that news and schedules for most of the regional, state, and club PRS events are only found there. I've watched and participated in this this...

Help me upgrade my rifles (please)

Your best upgrade would upgrading the shooter; as in training. Doing that before investing in gear will likely save you a bunch money on buying the wrong gear, and you'll wind up better shooter.

You’d probably have the opportunity to shoot 300 if you brought 300. It will be an even more extensive target package than last year.

Any downside to a heavy buffer?

I’m not sure I’d go to the extent of describing this as “poorly selected”. Just different ways to approach solving the problem; and yes, piston systems have a different set of things to tune. I’ve run DI guns with fully adjustable gas blocks (like JP) and I’ve run several different piston...

Any downside to a heavy buffer?

I’ll add some further thoughts to this. First off, I’m personally running a PWS gas piston system with adjustable gas block. There are 4 gassed settings (1-4) and a fifth setting that passes all gas and thus disables the semi-auto function. At the 4th setting, the setting that releases most of...

Any downside to a heavy buffer?

I’ve been playing around with this as a winter project and I’m not sure if I fully agree with this. I have a 16” PWS w/ can, and stock, it ships with an H2 buffer. Even with the gas port at the highest setting (or maybe it’s lowest, I’m still trying to wrap my brain around this), the system is...

My Nucleus action needs a bang-switch

Hey all... build parts are coming together nicely and I now need to decide on a trigger. The "best" trigger I've shot any amount is my Timney 40X triggers installed on the R700 actions in replacement of the stock ones. I currently run a bit over 2 lbs...

Help me get started with 223 AR loading

Just and update... she seems to like the 75-77 grain pills, though with velocity testing on several varieties I seem to get more mass*velocity from the 68-70 grain range. Dies deliver today and I have a few different flavors of bullets. I’ll be loading CFE-223 ladders with 68 and 75 HPBTs and...

Help me get started with 223 AR loading

I forgot how dirty shooting gas guns were. Bolt guns feel so much more refined. That said, I‘m using a PWS adjustable gas piston which helps a lot and I also have an H2 and H3 buffer. Once I settle on the load, I’ll tun it up to run as smooth as possible.

    16” Truck gun

I’m in the process of building similar. 16” barrel suppressed AR-15 with a 2-10x Vortex PST. Aren’t many critters I’d shoot at that a fast and accurate GMX bullet wouldn’t drop. 2-10x seems like a great optical range for anything 0-500+ yards.

Help me get started with 223 AR loading

That’s what I was leaning towards. How is gas levels with Varget? As I’m shooting suppressed ALWAYS, it’s nice to reduce blowback.

Help me get started with 223 AR loading

? I’ve chased speed to the very edges of my bolt action calibers. With all the moving parts and gas, I am really being mindful of this and keeping my expectations set appropriately.
