Very good point. I was more worried about it going the other way and having to raise it too high, but with low rings you may not be able to get down far enough. I ended up going with a LaRue QD mounting system and it fits perfect.

Well worth the money. Function over form, not the prettiest thing I've seen but it works and is rock solid without having to make a permanent mod to the gun.

Nicolet is nice and close, but haven't become a member yet (not sure about the "have to be NRA" to join) - I usually shoot the public range in Shiocton, can get out to 560 yards.

+1 to bh-ltr I couldn't get comfortable with the thumbhole stock. Changed out to the Viper Skins pistol grip and man what a difference.
