    53 V Max in 12tw. 223, Anybody?

I have recently switched to the 53g v-max in my 220 swift from the 52g a-max , same load gives the same velocity within 10 ft/sec around the 4,050 ft/sec . This takes on 3 inches less wind at 400 yards than the a-max .

    High End Spotting Scope Recommendation

Without saying the same old stuff BUT ..... The ATX is the best IMHO , however I use the Swarovski HD65 with a fixed 20x for normal use and have a Vortex eyepiece in 30x with an MOA ret if I'm watching for strike . The quality of the Vortex eyepiece is very good and whilst I've never used one of...

Advise on ELR Scopes, max magnification ?

I also agree , I use two Leupold MK4's converted to fixed 24x some years back and with 65 moa rails i can get out to approx 2,700 yards with the 7mm .

Most capable .30 cal or 7mm S/A Chambering for ELR

Straight 284 seems to be the obvious choice , I run two 7/270wsm's , one on a F Class setup the other on a field / hunting and shooting two or three matches of 2 & 15 in the day compared with three or four rounds a day makes a hell of a difference in barrel wear from the same cartridge .

Rifle Scopes Bubble level options for S&B Ultrashort

I would always run with bubble attached to the main tube and personally avoid anything that was hinged as well as it's another thing that could effect its accuracy IMHO .

Rifle Scopes Badger rings overkill for Vortex Viper and CZ 455?

Badger max 50's on all my rifles , no such thing as overkill when peace of mind is involved

    Bipods???

I use the Henry Rempol bipod for prone and bench work there is nothing more stable but no good if your carrying the rifle with the bipod attached .

    Rifle Scopes 50mm or 56mm ?

I have two 5.5-22x50mm's , both on Bat actions / rails and i like using the Badger max 50 rings which go from Low to high to ultra high . I can use the Low , use a Butler cap and still have daylight between the barrel . I have a 12-42x56mm , might try setting it at 22x !

    MagnetoSpeed V3 Accuracy Rating

I'm not knocking chrono's as i always use them however , i use them for obtaining ES's shot to shot differences and for giving me a guide on the actual velocity . weve shot through a pact XP and on through a 35P with a V2 on the barrel and no chronogragh gave the same average even taking into...

    MagnetoSpeed V3 Accuracy Rating

Anything strapped onto your barrel is going to run the risk of some king of harmonics issue , some barrels will see no ill effects at all but others will . Quoting 99% accuracy and SD's is fine shot to shot because most chrono's will do that but 99% accuracy of the exact velocity is a nonsense...

    MagnetoSpeed V3 Accuracy Rating

Yes agreed but you only have to understand how its calculating velocity to see why the error can be so large . It's such a basic device no matter how they dress them up .

    MagnetoSpeed V3 Accuracy Rating

Chronographs don't measure velocities that accurately , they do measure differences in velocity well . I think from memory my old Oehler manual advised of an accuracy of +/- 15%

Upgrade to Vortex Razor HD 20-60x85mm?

Guys , I was worried about Vortex's claim on the ' only for 85mm ' as I was putting it on my HD65 but a quick test at 443 yards put my mind at ease . I ranged a fence rail at a fraction over 30.5 MOA with the scope , the rail was 3.615m ( 142.3 inches ) 1 MOA at 443 yards is 4.638 inches so...

Upgrade to Vortex Razor HD 20-60x85mm?

I had the HD80 and sold it to get the smaller HD65 angled , I couldn't see anymore with the bigger 80mm than with the 65mm and it fitted into my pack . Both the Vortex and the Swarovski are head and shoulders above the Leupold IMHO but you need to work out how you will use the scope as I feel...

Rifle Scopes How much magnification needed?

If your only shooting 100 yards you'll see bullet holes with either 7x or 9x but if you want to shoot for group and have a better chance of letting the rifle shoot to its ability then your going to need 30x plus . 8-32 would seem to give you the best of both worlds .

Upgrade to Vortex Razor HD 20-60x85mm?

Sometimes you can't see anymore with higher power , For competition I use the Swarovski 20x fixed because of how clear and sharp it is and for its massive FOV when looking at other target boards and now I use the Vortex 30x with the MOA reticle when shooting in the field . Zoom eyepieces are now...

Upgrade to Vortex Razor HD 20-60x85mm?

Hi , I have a Vortex eyepiece which I purchased recently to go on my HD65 Swarovski body and I was very impressed in that it gave nothing that my eyes could see away to my fixed Swarovski 30x or 20x so I'm guessing it would be a good size step up from the Bushnell . I do however think that any...

    Rifle Scopes Old MK4 M1 16X

They are the business , do it . I have two which were converted by Premier Reticles to 24x and they both have approx 148 MOA & 50 MOA as opposed to the 140 MOA & 45 MOA that Leupold state .

F T/R Competition Which nightforce reticle

I have tried most and have the MOAR on a hunting rifle however it would be too thick for F Class , CH-3 is the perfect reticle which Nightforce have decided to drop , just crazy !

Angled or strait body spotting scope?

Angled , save the neck pain . If you shoot prone i can't think of anything worse than a straight scope ! Only advantage with the straight scope is slightly quicker target acquisition .
