    Long COAL .223 Gas Gun

So I was thinking today that most gas-guns are limited in bullet selection (and in some parts powder capacity) mostly by magazine length, and that really limits what a .223 AR15 can do compared to a comparable bolt gun. (Yes, I know that the gas system robs gas volume, barrel length is...

Failure to Fire / Light Strikes when reloading .223 on a Dillon 550

I've been attempting to load .223 precision ammo for a ARC Nucleus-based rifle on my Dillon 550, but I'm getting a ton of light strikes. Nearly every round does not fire the first time. I'm loading brand new virgin LC brass and CCI primers. The primers are as close to flush as I can measure...

Pushing the bullet past the shoulder / neck junction

Of course, we're talking about the full diameter section of the bullet..... What is downside to a load which requires the bullet to be past the shoulder / neck junction? I've heard lots of people say it's bad to push the bullet past this, but why? Anyone have data or really clear experiences...

223 AICS Mag for max COAL?

The AI AICS magazines I have will hold about 2.550", and from my search, the other AICS-compatible magazines I can find range from 2.325" to 2.550" max length. Are there any .223 magazines that fit into an AICS-compatible chassis that are longer? I'm trying to load 85.5gr Bergers, and putting...

Trigger Tech Diamond 2-stage AR15 trigger?

Anyone have a decent amount of first-hand experience with this trigger yet? I've been using the Geissele HS National Match in "Precision" AR15 builds, but compared to my 1lb bolt-gun triggers, they are starting to feel REALLY heavy. I'd love to get a crisper, lighter trigger if it's available...

How / Where do you buy ammo? (By Lot #)

Hey guys. Like most of you, I've done lots of ammo testing. I hope to make it to the Lapua tunnel in Ohio one of these days, but it's not in the cards in the near future. I have two rifles I'm trying to get maximum precision from - a Volquartsen VG-1, and a Vudoo. So my question is how to...

    Lubrication for FL sizing

So, definitely one of the most boring parts of reloading has got to be lubricating the brass. But I've seen some very interesting trends recently when I've monitored the performance of my sizing die compared to the way I've lubricated the brass. So my question is, what do people consider BEST...

Seekins SP10 in 6.5cm - Any ammo experiences?

I've got a brand new Seekins SP10 in 6.5CM that I'll be using for PRS Gas Gun matches. Been shooting the caliber for years with my bolt gun (and loading my own) but not interested in loading for the gas gun. So I'm looking for experiences from people who have SP10s and who tested different...

Gunsmithing Barrel vise jaws for a shop bench vise

I'm lucky enough to have some basic fabrication tools (drill press, grinder, etc) near my reloading / gunsmithing bench. One of the things I have is a really nice bench vise. In the past, I've had some v-cut jaws that I've used for a barrel vise, but I'm pretty sure that's not the *right*...

Rifle Scopes Box Testing with Laser Bore sight?

I'd like to run a box test on my new scope, and I'm trying to determine the best way to do this. Of course you can do it with live ammo, but that costs money, has lots of variables (wind), etc, etc. Someone recommended to me this weekend that you run it with a laser bore sighter, and that...
