What scabbard are you using? Purchase or DIY. Pics? I’m working on one now but am not thrilled with the weight and may look to change the design a bit.
I had the same experience with L3I. I reached out on Instagram (couldn’t find email) and they responded offering to replace. They mentioned they were tweaking the specs.
I missed the responses and have been away for a few weeks. I ordered the L3I Break Fast plate. Not completely satisfied with it. It is light and feels sturdy enough but the arca rail is too narrow for my Anvil-30. I’m not sure if I just got a bad one or they are all the same. If I were using a...
so it seems that most are using the bag rather than clamping into the leveling base/bullhead. I would presume that’s for speed of movement and reset and the versatility of going back and forth between binos and gun?
do you mind sharing a link to that plate? I’m not having luck finding it. Would you be willing to share a link to the plate? I can't seem to find "Zero Sucks L3I plate" anywhere. Thanks.
Thanks for that link. I actually read that entire thread which is what got me thinking more about my setup. It's a pretty incredible thread with tons of information; however, the only thing I really saw much discussion on was the Abel Table which seems a big on the large side to be very...
I am curious how people are running their tripods for field style matches. Specifically how the tripod is being utilized for both a rifle rest and for LRF binos. I own a Two Vets 40 Mike Mike with a RRS Anvil-30 and am curious how people are setting up for field style matches. I’ve looked at...
It’s been said implicitly but I figured I could add my thought to the discussion. My personal view is that I mount mine such that the Sphur mount is the ultimate reference point. That’s the level I will have in the field to reference if I am level. So long as the reticle is square to that...
I have been spending some time playing with things. - 105 v 109 Berger hybrid - switch tail winds - 6BR v 6CM v 308 Very cool tool and very easy to us.
This has been an interesting thread so far lol. It would never be my choice to use one of these positions and I would always prefer take more time to get a good position or deploy a tripod. I don’t write the rules so just trying to be prepared. Thanks for the info.
Thanks for the response. Not a huge fan of the idea myself but may be required for an upcoming tram match. There doesn’t seem to be much out there (possibly for good reason). Here were the only pics I could find.
I’m not refuting the idea that new and fired brass result in differences in MV I can’t conceptualize how/why that would occur. Let’s say new brass is 3% smaller by volume in your chamber because of extra headspace. When the primer/powder ignite, the case instantaneously expands to the chamber...
Whidden makes dies with both expander bushings and expander balls. They bushings and expander are available in a variety sizes so you can pick the combination that works for your brass and achieves your desired neck tension. For example a bushing that gives you 0.003” neck tension and am...
