Ok I have finally been able to respond to all those wanting a plan. Unfortunately, I was unable to locate the spreadsheet with the specifics, but a team mate put together a pretty comprhensive email with tips and our general training outline.
We maintained a 9:30 pace for the first 11 miles then walked most of the elevation gain and ran the down hills. Unfortunately, one of our guys got nasty leg cramps around mile 16.
This hasn't been mentioned yet, but I have a TAG Banshee. It can be run with or without a cumberbund/side plates, and is low-pro. It is also quite a bit cheaper than Crye and the likes. I can't say enough good about it. I'm a slim 6'2", but it comfortably holds the plates for me. I go running...
Anybody ever used them? I'm eying the Aero Precision upper and lower in FDE. I can't find anybody else that has them both in stock, but I've never heard of this company and I'm a little wary. Don't want to get Rooney'd...if you know what I mean.
I don't mind the notifications, but I hate that I click on the quote notification and it takes me to my user CP. Is there a way to take you to the quoted post when you click on the notification?
At a match last weekend a thunderstorm rolled thru and two shooters had Calvin Elite's break. I have a 510 with flat shoe and it worked great. I hear Jewell's are real finicky in adverse conditions, but I don't have any experience with it.

+1 I'm definitely no operator, but allot of dudes I know who are use whatever the fuck they feel like. It changes over time and mission. Now days lots of dudes I know use the ELCAN and really like it. I've never shot with one, only messed around and expressed some professional jealousy...
Not knowing the purpose of the rifle, I'd go with the Bushnell 3.5-21X with either of their offered reticles. It has a very large magnification range, and the relatively inexpensive cost = More ammo.
I'll be shooting a match next weekend that involves a night stage. I'm running a vortex razor hd with no night vision. I've never shot at night before and this will be my first time doing it. What are some good techniques I can practice before hand? Is it possible to spot your rounds in the...
The best mirage band I've seen was a strip of xray film attached to the top of the barrel with industrial Velcro. It worked great from a bench but I never tried running around with it
I'll be watching this thread as well. SurplusAmmo has BHW 308 Barrels in stock. Blackhole Weaponry .308 18" Stainless Steel 1:11 Poly Barrel - DPMS Compatible It says DPMS compatable....does that mean it won't run with the KAC hardware?
