Range Report Out to 1,000 yds on cheap ammo?

Very lucky to have such great ranges out near me, my wife is an excellent shot, we start our days using the .22LR at 300 yards for fun and frustration, then use the .223 Tac A1 at 600 with some factory 69 SMK to adjust to wind at longer range, then use the 6.5 Tac A1 at 1000 - 1200 yards.

Range Report Out to 1,000 yds on cheap ammo?

Tacc, had NRA UK confirm the V bull is .5 MOA, so roughly using my calipers vs my phone screen, it looks like a 1.2 x 2.5 inch group.

    Once fired Hornady

Ultimately, the issue of pressure is mainly handled by avoiding jamming into the lands, if the case is the third at least it doesn’t have the issues of excessive headspace. A rat turd - I like it!

    Once fired Hornady

many thanks - yes, I did, but always good to have as much info I’m these threads so thank you. with regards to the above sizing, ultimately, if the cartridge fits into the chamber even if tight, is this preferable to an undersized case which could cause case failure?

    Once fired Hornady

Thanks for your input. i stripped my bolt to get a brass / chamber size as well as an accurate CBTO measurement - after frustrating attempts with the Hornady tool. My 50x once fired brass ranges from 1.531 to 1.535 inches in length with my chamber measured to best accept 1.533. As a result I...

    Once fired Hornady

Thanks for your reply, however the variety is not from my resized brass, but from factory Hornady American gunner straight from the Tac A1 chamber.

    Once fired Hornady

Hello everyone! Ann currently using a pair of Tac A1s, one in .223 and the other in 6.5CM, both with Minox 5-25 ZPTACs and suppressors (UK). I use 69 SMK (UK HPS) and 140 BTHP (Hornady American Gunner) factory loads for general shooting. I want to retain the brass for reloading. I am...

    147 / 4451 / CCI450 / Lapua

Thanks guys, I don’t think I’m pushing it as primers seem ok and the same marks on the brass occurred earlier in lighter loads. I don’t need to push the 147 fast - I’m happy to get 2650 - 2750, I hope the 4451 can do it, if not will play with RL16 and RL26.

    147 / 4451 / CCI450 / Lapua

Hi guys, Managed to test a 4451 / CCI450 / 147 ELDM / Lapua 6.5CM SRP brass combo at bisley. I used a magnetospeed v3 on my 24" Tikka Tac A1 using an MK Machining mount, so the chrono wasn't attached to my barrel. The wind 10 to 20 MPH from all angles, air and ammo temp was 21C, measured with...
