Evening! I went with the Mk5 due to the reputation and glass quality. Haven't been disappointed at all!

Bergara HMR B14 Wilderness 6.5CM. Not a bad shooter

I have the HMR Premier in 6.5 CM and it shoots factory loads into 0.5 - 3/4 " groups all day long. My go to load is the Hornady 140gr American Gunner as it comes out to about .70 a round. Haven't tried any handloading...but with how well this rifle shoots I highly doubt I can hold better than...

6.5 CM Ammo Recommendations for New Tikka T3x Tac A1

I've had really good luck with the Hornady American Gunner 140gr out to 850 yards. It groups .75-1 MOA in my rifles and comes out to around .70 a round when ordered in bulk. Can't beat that value!

    Howa 1500 builds **post them**

They pop up in the exchange every now and then. Our California gun chain (Tuners) was selling full rifles with cheap stocks for $300 earlier in the year. I bought several of the rifles, threw the stocks away, and used the BA's to build on. That was probably the best firearms related deal I've...

New Rifle for son - Opinions on caliber

I'd go with the 6.5 for him. The 6.5 is readily available, flatter shooting, and about the same price as 308. But then again, you'll never go wrong with a 308 either. With costs being equal....I prefer the 6.5.

The new Springfield 2020 Waypoint Rifle

Looks like a promising, factory option for a high end hunting rifle....for those that have the coin of course. I know Springfield has gotten a lot of negative press but I've had several of their 1911's and M1A's and they are built well.

Has the latest ammo shortage changed your rifle of choice?

I have been stocking up for years. Every time I go shoot I usually buy double what I shot, and that has been a good habit for me over the years. This latest ammo boom hasn't changed my shooting habits whatsoever.

    Howa Discussion

Went out for this morning for the second range session. The barrel has finally settled in after 60 rounds and is now grouping consistently. All below groups were Federal GMM 168gr. Prvi 308 Match was inconsistent and went from 1/2” to 2” with sporadic flyers. Black Hills 168gr was around 1.5”.

I also got out to the range this morning for some 100 yard group practice. I tried to really focus on each shot and make sure the shot broke when my posture and sight alignment were perfect. Shooting Hornady Gunner 140gr the GAP 6.5 shot the tightest groups to date. Either today was a complete...

    Howa 1500 builds **post them**

@Harman117 The 4 round group measured 1.25”. The first 10 rounds were magtech 150gr and used to sight in. The second 10 were Federal GMM 168gr. I fired two 3 round groups and one 4 round group. I’m kind of at a loss because I can shoot my 6.5 into 1/2” - 3/4” groups consistently. But then...
