We have a Barrett Model 99 single shot. Very accurate and fun to shoot, even for the ladies. I bought a bunch of surplus AP and API, and I wonder what that would do to your tractor plate.
I have this scope mounted on a Winchester pre '64 in 30.06. It is an excellent scope but my shots are 200yd max. The 50mm objective sure gathers a lot of light and extends twilight shooting a bit. But 500 to 600 yds? I just don't know about that one.
Redandwhite: define "eventually". And why call someone you don't even know an idiot. I have boxes of 22s labelled .96 and I'd bet my next paycheck that you don't have any of those. Does that make you an idiot? Of course not! Grow up!
Good quality ammo stored properly(cool dry place) should be just fine. I have recently fired ammo with a price tag of .96 for 50. Probably from the 70s and with no problems at all.
