    Gunsmithing Hey all, 6.5 / 270 Bolt

I have a .270 and am curious if that bolt face will work with a 6.5 284. I know, I know it may be dumb, but had to ask just in case. Its a 98 Mauser if it matters. I know many Rem .308 and 30.06 bolts work on a number of other calibers. Pardon the stupid question. Thanks

Gunsmithing Need Advice For 270 Barrel twist

I am planning on building a long range .270 from the action on, starting with a Remington 700. What I am thinking is around a 1000 yard gun, or rather what i would like, either way. Any suggestions on barrel twist and bullet grain???

I am making my first post here. So if I sound ignerant I apologize. I notice many 4 calibers discussed here seem to be most popular for longe range. .243, .260, .308, 30-06, 7mm- or 6-6.5mm. Does the standard .270 have any place in the long range 1,000 yd club. Thanks, Rob

    Range Report .270 Win Bullets?

I searched this section of the forum for anything regarding .270 or 270 or .270 win, etc. Nothing. I understand that the .270 is not the most popular caliber on this board. Maybe that's an understatement. Anyway, I've looked at Berger VLD, Sierra MK, Nosler AB, and the best BC in a 140gr...

    MARLIN XL7C 30-06, 270, 25-06 CAL. Tactical??

$300 on the net! Savage type barrel mount, Savage type floating bolt head, pillar bedded, uses standard WRA M70 bases, savage type trigger, trigger adj to 1.5 lb, shoot 1 to 1.5 MOA with factory ammo. Could this be the poor boy's tactical platform? Looks a lot like a 700 with a Weatherby bolt...
