Say I want to have a piece of AR500 cut for me that will only be used at 1k and further. Size will be 24"x24" (in reality I want to use this to try and shoot 1 mile plus, I know it will be overkill in size for 1,000, so figure on 1,500 yards + more than likely.
Will 1/4" AR500 hold up to a 338LM at that distance or do I ned to go up to 3/8"?
Obviously 1/4" will be easier to lug around due to the size/weight and it will likely react a little more at that distance, so those are the positives. I'd think that at 1,500 yards the 338LM will be slowed down enough to not do too much damage to a 1/4" plate.
What says the 1k masters here?
Thanks,
J
