Bought a Remington 1903A1 barreled action with bolt as a starting point for a USMC sniper clone.
I'm guessing barrel is military contour that has been bubba'd by soldering on a Lyman front sight to go with the Lyman screw on receiver mount sight.
Does anyone have a drawing showing the barrel profile to see if this will be usable for me in CMP matches, or if I need to get a new one?
All measurement from the front edge of the receiver:
1.135 dia for 1 inch, then tapering to .95 at about 2.75inches, then tapering to .75 at approx 10 inches, and .625 at the muzzle, 23 3/16 from receiver front. Very shallow groove (for rear sight base???) at about 2.95".
Thanks.
