Been away from the hide a while. Doing a lot of traveling, and Jeeping around out in Utah. Back in 2018, I had one hell of a motorcycle crash on my Kawasaki Concours 14. I'm no youngster, so recovery took a while, But recover I did. Back at my usual 60%.

Here's some pics of the old scoot after the crash. The frame was broken in half. Fella in a Chrysler minivan in opposing traffic turned left across my path of travel, and boom. Lights out. Note in the picture, You can see where the frame busted open, and the air filter fell out. The frame was also the airbox on this bike.

So anyways, I told that story to tell this one, I replaced the Concours 14 with a new Honda Goldwing airbag model, and did some catching up on my traveling. Got some great pics along the way. Spring of 19, I rode to California from Indiana, to visit friends, see the sights along the way, and mostly to just enjoy the ride. Met some cool folks. Ate good food. Put about 5 K miles on the brand new scoot. America is a helluva place. Damn, I love it.

Glad you survived and are back at it!!!
Your trip on the new bike sounds great.

Curious what you did to make your millions?
No way the ugly old fart in the pics has such a foxy dame otherwise!!! 😆😆😆

Ha! I wouldn't have been able to get the new bike, but the at fault driver's insurance covered my injuries pretty good, and My lawyer got them for the full amount allowed in Indiana.
Irina, is another story. We've been long distance friends for maybe 15 years. She is something else. We met through a mutual friend who is a writer/producer, and I think is working on some shitty MTV thing. Catfishing or fishers or something. If You google, "Irina Voronina" make sure You're not at work or don't have the wife n kids around. Before She started having success as an actress, and comic, She was Playboy's Miss January 2001.

Seriously, glad to hear you're here, and able to ride again.

Your original/opening story is similar to mine. 'Cept mine happened in July, I got outta the hospital in November, and started learning how to walk again the following February. And even that, is with a cane, now.

My left arm WASN'T broken. Everything else, including my pelvis (in four places) WAS broken.

So believe me when I say, CONGRATULATIONS on your recovery, and ability to continue. That, and all the rest of the Blessings you can appreciate!

Welcome back.

Damn glad You made it through, too! Wow! Scary stuff, Man. Sounds like You still have some recovering yet to come. Not easy getting things working again.

No, it sure ain't. And no, there ain't much gonna change for me. That accident happened in '04. In my effort to try and 'get back to living' at the end of '05 and beginning of '06... I was in another one (I can't win for losing) had me in the hosp. for a few weeks right there, made everything worser.

I'm simply happy to be alive, and greatful for what facilities I have left. I/we do the best we can, each day.... and are both positive and optimistic just at the fact of living. Word to the wise.... no matter how 'great' the roads look in the Spring, and no matter HOW EAGER you are to get out there on 'em.... wait until the clean/sweep them roads of the Winter salt/sand/gravel BEFORE venturing out on said roads.

That's all I'm gonna say about that topic. In the battle between Forehead vs. Traffic Light, I can honestly say "I won".

Or did I?

Y'all have had some gnarly wrecks, my worst was a broken wrist and separated opposite shoulder. Wrist cracks on occasion and the shoulder is a bear when the weather changes. I found a bit of gravel riding around Lake berryessa. I ride a bit more conservative now. Glad y'all are still with us.
