On a deal I couldn't pass up, I just aquired a 22-243 Win. with a bucket of brass, dies, and several assorted boxes of 75,80,and 90gr. vlds. Load data is scarce (been searching all week) and usually repeats 75/80gr bullet and RE22/RE25. I'm most interested in the heavy bullets and some data with Hodgden powders for temperature stability. If you have been running one for a while, give us some insight on powder/bullet choice and barrel twist/length/velocity/wear. Thanks, in advance.

Thanks Sendero_man, I have the same set up and noted your data. I hit my goal today with 80 grn VLD and 45.0 of H1000. Came in at 3305-3315 fps and groups .5 in at 150 yards. Works for me !

Re: 22-243 / 22-6mm data

I have a 22-243 AI chamber, but my fireforming loads are 22-243 loads. Specs are as follows:

27" 1-7 twist barrel
Lapua brass
Wolf LR primers
42 grains RL-15
60 grain V-Max
2.691" OAL
3894 fps 4 shot average

This is a mild load for my chamber but is under 1/2 moa and zeroed at 200 does a number on coyotes out to 300 holding dead on.

27" 1-7 twist barrel
Lapua brass
Wolf LR primers
46.5 grains RL-22
80 grain A-Max
2.80" OAL
3375 fps 4 shot average

This is still a mild load for the AI chamber, but accuracy is superb, and it stays supersonic past 1300 yards. I will be trying some faster powders to see if i can get the same accuracy but better velocity. maybe RL-17 or RL-19.

I have yet to get blood with my 80 grain loads. I have however used the 90 grain Bergers at 3100 on a cat or two. I have not perfected this load though so I will not share it yet.

22-243 Ackley Improved
27" 1-7 twist barrel
Lapua brass
Wolf LR primers
44 grains RL-17
80 grain A-Max
2.80" OAL
<span style="color: #FF0000"><span style="font-weight: bold">3598</span></span> fps 4 shot average

I just worked this load up today. Blazingly fast and just as accurate as the RL-22 load. I don't know if it can get much better than that folks.

Sounds awesome! Is this load info for a 22-243win?
