Just wanted to share my best 200 yard group to date with ANY rifle, I have EVER shot my entire life.

Chad Dixon and his guys built me a barreled action with a factory Remington 700 (.223) action. From there it was blueprinted, trued, and had a Brux 7 twist Remington Varmint profile barrel hung and finished @ 24" with an Ackley Improved chamber designed for the 80gr. Berger VLD's. The bolt was trued and fluted, and I installed a Timney 510 with a narrow trigger shoe. The entire thing rests in a JAE700 Chassis, and is topped with a Nightforce ATACR (5-25x56) w/MOAR reticle.

The load: Lapua Match brass that was previously fireformed, a 75gr AMAX seated @ 2.450" behind 25.6gr of RL15 and a Federal 205 primer. Chrono showed 2962 FPS average over 5 shots. It was 84F on the day and wind was calm @ zero value, altitude is 975' ASL @ my range. The only other measurement of note is that I have measured my case capacity @ 30.5 grains of water (5 case average, same lot#).

This is a 10 shot group @ 200 yards I shot last weekend. I am well pleased with the rifle. I am even more pleased that my 200 yard game has improved substantially since I started down this path a little more than a year ago.

Some of you may know her as "Pepper" from my rifle porn thread. The only difference between this pic, and now, is that she now wears one of (2) ATACR's that I have for my quiver.... Pepper is a hottie!

I'm not saying your velocity isn't correct, but 2730 fps sounds really slow for that load with a 24" barrel. I can hit that velocity out of my 5.56, 18.5" barrel with less Re15.

Totally fucked that one up fellas. I went back and looked at my logs for that day, and checked my printouts for the load data, and I mixed it up with the logs from the 90gr Berger VLD's I tested the same day.

My actual (observed) velocity was 2960 FPS from a 5 shot chrono string and the 75gr. AMAX's. Sorry about that.

I corrected the original post to reflect what the actual data was. I got a little trigger happy with the post and was excited to get the picture up after a long week having just gone back to work after a 2 month hiatus. Forgive me.

Jesus, that is a sick group! Damn!
