.223 Remington twist question

Re: .223 Remington twist question

Yeah that 55 will run just fine. My barrel didnt like them, meaning I got junk groups compared to the heavier ones, but they shot. My 9 twist runs the 69s and 70s really well, but not so much anything more than that.

Re: .223 Remington twist question

I have a 16" HB 1:8 on an AR platform that shoots everything from the 40 vmax to the 77 SMK well. The 40's even group into 3/4" at 100 yds. The 77's shoot into 1/2".

Re: .223 Remington twist question

1-9 won’t over-stabilize 55's however 1-9 may not stabilize 75 a-max. In my Remington tactical it would not work, but I can run 75-77 BTHP's fine. Others have said they could shoot 75 a-max's so I may just have a slightly slower 1-9 twist from Remington or temperature and altitude may have come into play.

I have found Berger 70 VLD’s to be great for my tactical. BC of the 77class run at 69class speed. Coyote’s don’t care much for it though…

We're in the process of figuring out what my son's Rem. 700 with a 1 in 9 likes...
So far, 52 gr Noslers and 63 gr. Sierra SMP's are at the top of the list. Anything heavier is all over the paper.

Every gun is different...
