i have a 28 Nosler on the way and am pondering bullets to use in it. My rifle has a 1:8 twist and is throated for the 195’s. The last owner states it shoots very well with both the 195 EOL’s and the 180 Eld-m.

In playing with Ballistic AE it appears that the 180 ELD-m beats the 195 EOL in velocity, energy, drop and drift.

It seems that most guys are using the 195’s in the 28N and I am sure there is a reason but I am having trouble finding that reason.

Help me out here guys, why the 195 EOL over the 180 Eld-m?

I’ve read reports of the 180 eld-m’s blowing up in the air. I’ve shot probably 1500 of them through 1:8 twist 7 wsm and 7 mags and never had an issue. I’ve used the 180 eld-m on several deer, a few elk and a few bears with great performance.

I’ve read some less the stellar terminal reports on both the eld’s And the eol’s hence the question.

It’s definitely something I am debating as our seasons open here in WA very soon.
