2A ALERT: New Jersey Governor Murphy vows to make NJ the first 'gun free state' with drastic overhaul of existing gun control laws.

Wasn’t sopranos filmed in NJ?

The house they lived in on the show was in NJ.

NJ is the land of hi points, old ass revolvers and tiny little .25acps from back in the '70s. They've been illegal forever, but they're still all over the friggin' place.

Good luck enforcing this crap.

Living in NJ has to be like living in a septic tank. This idiot needs to leave Alabama and move to NJ. He ought to find lots of places to reflect up there.

Years ago, I was tasked to do some product evaluation and part of that was to test this product in an area of NJ. I stayed there for a few weeks and in my downtime I'd go to different areas and one night I found a gun shop. I go in and it's not like any gun shop I've ever seen. I thought I'd buy a pellet gun so I could shoot at cans behind the motel. Behind the counter were where the pellet guns were stored. Right next to the other rifles. I asked to see one of the pellet guns and the guy asked me for some kind of card. I told him I was from Maryland and was just staying in NJ for a few weeks. He said he couldn't sell it to me without being a NJ resident and having this secret squirrel card.

I walked out of the store shaking my head.

I knew then that NJ was lost.
Yep. You need your FIc firearms I’d card and you need to burn a gun permit( mind you you can only buy one a month ) to get a Red Rider. If the shop didn’t know you ....you would need to show them your FIC just to handle and look a gun. Ask me how I know. for pellet guns most NJ residents just go to Cabelas but even there they would ask to see an I’d to make no residents were not buying 30 round magpul mags.

being from NJ and now living in a free state

I consider the state I live in to be a free state. The above statement just scares the shit out of me in so many different ways. I have traveled all over the US and never really cared much for anything on the east coast. I also consider California and certain part of Oregon and Washington wastes of perfectly good topography. But the concept of not having freedom, or not even feeling free is insane. So sad that this has become "a thing" for so many people in our country.

Maryland is such a weird state. It seems to be controlled by Baltimore City and the counties that surround Washington DC. There's enough votes in those areas to carry the state for the Demwits. Until they started dispersing Section 8 housing from those areas into the RED parts of the state, our Assembly was about 50/50. But since then, those voters have brought enough votes with them to now we're as much Blue as we are Red. The districting then became a joke and then all hell broke loose. There has been call to redistrict for the last 8 years but nothing has been done.

That's why Maryland is becoming a modern day gulag.

NJ/MD, they're pretty close to being the same any more.

It’s a real shame as Maryland is a beautiful state. I love western Md. not far from Gettysburg. But like everything the left touches it’s going to shit.

And women (for CA at least) best looking girls by miles, best looking country side aside maybe for Alaska, shame the people ran it into the ground.

NJ, I just don’t get

Yes, it was. The "Bada Bing" club is actually the Satin Dolls club in Lodi. They did some filming on the block a friend lives on, he actually got to meet and talk to James Gandolfini.

NJ has some of the best beaches....too bad "Jersey Shore" ruined it LOL

This is truth, though the Mountain West is as beautiful as the non coastal parts of CA. The east coast is uniformly terrible. The south isn't much better, but the people are pretty OK.

As one of the original 13 I am sure New Jerseys state Constitution probably has a Second Amendment like provision.

How do these turds do this without changing their state charters.

It just doesnt matter.

Laws are just words.

When you knowingly elect former Wallstreet investment banker what do you think is going to happen, he was a crook then and then you let the devil in the door and give him the keys to your state and now your slaves. Of all the money in New Jersey sadly apparently none of the wealthy up there have any power, like it was in the days of old.

Best beaches? Murky water bear and medical waste? Somehow I don’t think they were there quite compared with that of South Florida

Red tide on the east coast and green slime on the west coast? Florida is hardly "pristine". And I've been going to the Jersey shore for 60 years, and have never seen medical waste.

Ever been to Wildwood after the sun goes down? It's been a while, but the last time I was there it was pretty bad. They did a decent job of cleaning up the mess though. At about 10pm the junkies came out. Once you see someone nodding out you start to look for things. I saw quite a few wax baggies and at least a few of those little orange needles diabetics inject insulin with.

Parts of Florida are worse. The dope problem is real and it's all around us if you look for it.

Yes, at that time they would have face stiff and overwhelming resistance from the citizenry but that is an unsubstantiated quote.

Misquoting Yamamoto - FactCheck.org

Advocates of gun rights often argue that in World War II Japan was deterred from invading the U.S. mainland by a fear of American citizens with guns in their closets. They frequently quote Japan’s...

I do not want to side-track the libtard shenanigans that is NJ....but.....

This is a quote that was taken from Yamamoto at a state/military social function in Japan in the 1930's.......... The "pseudo" historians that require everything to be written down and notarized have been refuting this for years because they live in academia and not reality. They fail to understand that many tings occur everyday in normal conversations.

The problem is that "historians" today say that it did not happen if they don't have an email or a YouTube video showing it........

I live in Texas and it sure as hell isn’t because of the weather, which is miserable, but unless your in one of our three designated socialist zones(Dallas, Houston, or Austin) it’s as free as a state is in this modern age, would love to live in Idaho, Montana, or the Dakota’s someday though.

I live in New Jersey, 10 minutes off the beach. My area is one of the few conservative counties. Trump flags everywhere. I respect you guys with your opinions on NJ. The politics obviously suck. The left wing assholes out number us by a margin on 60/40% loosely.

That being said , you fine gentlemen don't know shit about New Jersey. It's a beautiful state. Excellent beaches, awesome parks. Great place to enjoy outdoor living.

All states have shithole areas, in NJ it's the Newark area and north , and Camden in the extreme south of the state.

As far as gun ownership goes - again , lots of wrong opinions here. Pinned stock, mag limit at 10 and no flash hider. Everything else goes. Now concealed carry is legal.

So I stayed to hold the line . To get involved in grass roots politics. Because ALL STATES will go blue if you run away.

Let's Go Brandon

NJ and IL are the only two states which require FOID (Firearms Owner IDentification) cards for any gun purchase, and even ammo and airguns. FOID is unconstitutional AF and is a large stepping stone to outright confiscation.

Oh I agree , NJ has horseshit laws. Doesn't stop me from competing, shooting.
So far.....

I am looking at Florida soon for retirement though.

Federal court.. based on recent SC decision, just ruled the mag bans illegal. NRA is fleecing money almost as bad as Hunter, but a simple lawsuit turns this stuff around quick.
I'm waiting for the NFA to fall.

That's welcome news. Which court was that? Was there a nationwide injunction? Do you have a link? I suppose it'll end up in the appeals circuit next.

I respect your resolve, but it's a lost cause. Things are only going to get worse in NJ.

Fall back and live to fight another day. NJ isn't a hill worth dying on. Neither was NY, which is why I left.

On the subject of court decisions. Keep eyes on a SCOTUS case that will determine states rights to regulate elections via their Legislators . Possibly in October. This will totally help in swing states this November.
This case :
Moore vs. Harper

Ah shit.. actually.. the federal court didn't make a final decision, but refused to allow CA to throw out the case with wording that indicated it will not stand in the final decision.. sorry.
But, there seems to be several lawsuits racing towards decisions, CA, CO, TX and this one,

Laws in states like NJ are often precedent setting and pave the way for other states to come up with similar laws. SC needs to ensure it is plain to them that ‘shall not be infringed’ means just that.

Running away isn’t going to fix it because more and more folks moving out of state is going to affect the laws of the states they move to.

We need shitholes such as Newark , where else in the state can you by a firearm without FOID and finger prints ????

Maybe.

Intolerance is at an all time high and our population is more polarized than I've ever seen. I've resigned myself to the likelihood that we cannot continue to exist as a singular state indefinitely. Too much damage has been done and I wouldn't want to be in NJ if it happens.

I say get out now before they hit you with a ridiculous exit tax. Those socialist programs need to be funded.

It's been a few years, but I was in Hamilton for almost the entire summer and I went to buy a pellet gun for those lonely summer nights with nothing to do. They would let me touch the pellet gun and I was told I needed a permit to buy it. Maybe things have changed but I was told that a big no-no in Jersey

The western part of MD is/was really red last time I went thru. The eastern part is seriously demented (aka blue)

Most of the state is Red, but the parts that vote for Demwits is where the majority of the voters reside. Geographically most is Red. However, the density of those areas that vote Demwit overwhelms the state.

NJ and IL are the only states where their residents allow their state governments to require a FOID card to purchase guns and ammo.
California, about 10-12 years ago, I had to pass a test and get a license to buy a pistol.
I still have it and will upload what I can of it (obviously covering personal data) later.
Gotta run to the oncologist, yet again.

Most have to slip over to Pa to buy a pellet gun at Walmart.

Brother , Your property value would only go up if I moved to Florida. I bleed red white and blue. 😆
There's no way our property value could go up w someone from new Jersey moving in.
We try to be nice, but you meat heads all say the same thing, but yet you drag liberal family members here that want to change our ways.
Really, when you proudly tell someone down here where you're from, we gag.

Too bad . I'm coming. Former LEO , all military family. I'm bringing zero liberalism and 100% conservatism. I volunteered to go door to door to elect conservatives. How many of your neighbors do that? Can't wait to meet you fine Americans.

I drink Miller beer. Keep some cold for me and I'll bring real NJ pizza. Lord knows Florida has crap pizza. 😆

Funny question.
What are you talking about
Just my small experience in Florida observing the vehicular habits of 5’7” white males between the ages of 16 and 30ish with slicked back hair and the look of someone that’s never worked with their hands a day in their lives. Sir.

The funny looking trucks, yes, alot around here w their tail end dragging, big rims and skinney profile tires.
But not so much the slicked back hair, but a lot of not worked hard w their hands type, but these days, that's pretty close to everywhere.

I'm in Hillsborough county and it gets bluer by the day.
