I'm looking to convert my 300wby to a 7wsm.
Reasons:
-From my research 7wsm has proven effectiveness down range at extended distances (target and hunting)
-I have a 300win and 300RUM..i feel like the 300wby does not offer a huge advantage over these two 30's that I can justify the keeping it and having the hassle of finding brass or spending the money on "weatherby" shells. (Maybe 7wsm brass will be tough to find as well)
-The bolt face (.540) on the LA 300wby will accept the SA 7wsm and still allow for longer seating depth and load development - and it wont have to be a single fed rifle - unless I missed something.
With all that --
What barrel length, twist, contour should I be looking at to get the best performance out of the 7wsm.
This will be use for deer/elk and then target/pract in off season.
Thanks for any advice/feedback
