WTB 308 barrel blank

Greetings,

Im having issues with my police department issued sniper rifle being an inconsistent piece of shit. It's a Remington 700 Magpul with a USO B17 on it.

Anyways, I proposed upgrading it to the bosses with a new barrel and having the action trued and scope mount holes opened up. Of course it's a money issue.

I'm looking for a 308 barrel blank to purchase, preferably a rem varm or similar contour, but whatever. Any twist is fine. I only shoot 168 fggm through it.

Let me know what you got and what you want for it. At this point I'm willing to pay for it myself just to get the ball rolling on getting me something I can trust.

There is a Proof blank on here I seen. What’s the issue with it? What’s making you think it’s the barrel?

Inconsistent groups, sometimes it will stack them. Sometimes they shoot 5 seperate holes in an approximate 1.5" pattern. It's an $800 rifle, I think you can only expect so much out of it. Cold bore is anywhere within 1.5" of point of aim, not any for sure consistent hit area on the cold bore.

I've checked the base and it's tight. Scope rings are also tight. I've tried a nightforce on it, somewhat short term testing, with similar results.

Any chance it is stock/bedding issue? Usually falls into that area if double groups. Bullets holes touching then not. Just a thought.

It's in a krg bravo chassis, which was torqued to spec. It's got an aluminum bedding block. So I don't think so....?
