Case length is not a big factor in accuracy, in my expirence and from what I have read.
Even from case to case. Just do not want them too long.
Get a chamber length gauge from Sinclair for about 5 bucks, make a holder from a throw away case and figure out how long your chamber is. Most That I have measured are far longer than SAAMI specs would indicate, and that includes from top end makers.
Then just keep them short of chamber length and uniform as you can. I would not worry at all about them being a bit short. I make .270 Win cases from Lapua 30-06 brass, uniform them up and they are very short. .040 or so. Work fine and no pre mature throat erosion at all. Just so I can use Lapua brass.
