For some reason I can't seem to find what velocity a fgmm .308 down a 20" rem ltr is. It doesn't help having an EXTREMELY slow connection here at work hindering my search results so forgive the probable commonly asked question. I'm just looking for a ball park fps figure. I'm trying to learn a few things about reloading but it is still a lot to take in and I still have a long ways to go before I get a good grip on this concept. Thanks in advance...

Re: .308 FGMM Velocity

2600-2650fps should be in the ballpark, but that will vary depending on your particular rifle, conditions, etc.

If you are going to get serious into reloading and shooting at extended ranges, a chronograph is a great investment and will pay dividends in the long run!!

Re: .308 FGMM Velocity

My money is on 2550-2590.

Longer barrels and custom shortys do not mean anything with the factory LTR barrel. I get 2610 out of my 18" Krieger (not a tight bore) and 2710 out of most Krieger and Obermeyer 24" guns.

Most of the factory LTR tubes are under 2600 with that load.

Be sure to tell us what you get if you ever chrono it.
